Do you even vote, bro?
It is said that there are two topics you do not bring up in polite conversation, Religion and Politics. Why are these two items such a trigger for immediate detonation of emotions. Why do they create an environment in which civilness is cast aside and the gloves come off. Well given the immediacy of the election we thought that perhaps taking inventory of our own political thoughts will be helpful to those of mixed views. Though Chris and I have certainly come from different sides of the political aisle we have found of the last few years that, while our approach and views are somewhat different, the ideals we hold for people often align quite closely. Mow The Damn Lawn.
Sunday mornings are reserved for church, but Saturday morning? That's an all together different kind of ritual. It's probably different for each one of us, and it's certainly less enjoyable for some than others, but one thing we can agree on is the satisfaction we get from looking at the perfectly trimmed grass that frames our humble residence. While some call it a chore and others call it a labor of love, we dutifully make pass after pass getting the lines just right before moving to the next part. We all have our different ways of bringing our yard to the pinnacle of perfection, and we pass that knowledge down from generation to generation, each person improving on the last, at least in their own eyes. But why? Why do we take the time to mow our grass and why do we take such pride in the job and treat it with such pomp? Is it for ourselves? Our neighbors? The HOA? Let's take a snip at this topic today and see if we can come to grips with our obsession of “Mowing the Lawn”
