In this sermon, Pastor Ulysses preaches about the expectations that followers of Jesus should have. Many falsely believe that Jesus promises us prosperity in this life. The truth, however, is much the opposite. We should not expect to live in full harmony with this world, but rather should anticipate persecution from standing firm in our core beliefs that often are at odds with the world.

This week, we continue our series through the book of John. In today's passage, we read of Jesus' offer of peace to his disciples; We may think we already have peace independent of Christ, but what happens when the circumstances affecting our peace begin to change? In this talk, pastor Ulysses helps to highlight the ways the peace of this world falls short, and uses the passage to remind us of why and how we can seek the peace that Christ offers.

What does it mean to love God? And how can we know that we love Him? Unlike the common perception of love, as merely a feeling, the reality is love is more than just an emotion. This Sunday we continue our sermon series in John. Pastor Mark leads us into a discussion of Jesus' miracles and how through His sacrifice we are capable of even greater miracles than the ones Christ performed when he was on Earth. But we need to have faith, disregard our own feelings of inadequacy and trust in God's plan for these miracles to happen. We need to especially remember that miracles do not primarily happen to satiate man's needs but to glorify God.
