In tonights' episode of MNL, Pastor Brian and our intern Elizabeth take a deep dive into the book "Knowing God" by J.I. Packer, as they speak on Chapter 2 of the book, titled "The People Who Know Their God". Brian and Elizabeth go into what it truly means to know God and have a strong relationship with him and identify common misconceptions between knowing God and knowing about God. They also identify 4 key characteristics of people who truly know God, and how we can manifest those qualities in our own lives, looking at the life of Daniel as an example. Tonight we hear from our favorite duo of Brian Adams and Brian Kurian (otherwise known as Brian^2) as they dive deep into the topic of shame. They break down on what shame truly is, how it affects our lives, and the importance of being unashamed of God's work in our lives. Both draw from their own personal experiences with shame and bring wisdom from those times and from the Bible to show us how to overcome this silent, but crucial obstacle in our lives that we must overcome. Gerritt discusses his journey to become a missionary with Andrew, talking about the experiences that impacted him throughout his life and also the testimonies of how God has used him and his wife in the country of Panama. After the discussion, Gerritt also answers questions from the audience of their questions about missions and his experience.
