Peacemakers Needed UofU Institute

The world around us can feel big and at times, distant. With global conflicts becoming more common, how can we as disciples of Jesus Christ seek understanding and peace with others, worldwide? In this episode, Aspen White is joined by Adam Cook, a student at the U. Adam has a unique perspective on this issue having served as a missionary in Russia at the time of the outbreak of war in Ukraine and more recently, as a student studying abroad in Jordan until the conflicts in the Middle East cut his time short there. Adam and Aspen will discuss peace and discipleship from this perspective, enjoy!

This is another episode from the past that is helpful for being a peacemaker. One of the places we can often choose to be peacemakers is at church. Church attendance can be difficult for many people, and it is on the decline in America. However, attending church is an action that helps us to build our spiritual foundations. Gabe Frei and Johnny Bowers discuss the topic of church and church attendance and how it applies to young adults in this episode. Jonny Bowers is currently a graduate student at the University of Utah.

This is a throwback episode from a previous podcast. It was originally on a different topic, but it helps us to understand one of the keys to being a peacemaker. That is learning to deal with adversity. Dax Sorensen takes time to interview Mike Gregson about adversity. Mike has personal experience dealing with tests, trials, and adversity, and he takes time to share some of the perspectives that have come from his experiences. Mike Gregson and his wife Alisha have three children and enjoy impromptu dance parties at home. If you visit their house, you better be ready to bust a move. You will hear in the way that Mike Gregson talks that he is a peacemaker. 

Have you ever struggled to know what the Lord would have you do in important moments in your life? In this episode, Sydney Nelson and Anna Thomas discuss finding peace in Christ, as they navigate life's choices, particularly the issue of being where the Lord would have them be at this moment in time. Sydney and Anna both had other college plans in mind, but they felt directed to the University of Utah, they are both active in Summit and bless many in their efforts. 

In this episode Alicia Sullivan interviews Gavin Swan. Both of these wonderful individuals are students at the U of U Institute of Religion. Their topic of discussion is how love can help us to be peacemakers. It is by acting and behaving like the Savior Jesus Christ that we can truly become peacemakers. One of the attributes we need for this is the ability to love. Listeners will hopefully find some helpful insights about how to do this in this episode.
