Spoken Poetry Mabel

Believed to be dedicated to Dylan Thomas’s father, this poem contains a universal message on death and our attitude towards it. I like how the narrator acknowledges that death is inevitable, but urges that we don’t have to go quietly; we should be brave in the face of death - and fight it bravely.

In this poem with an extended metaphor, hope is transformed into a bird that always resides in the human soul... does yours sing to you when times are rough? :)
