In order to be able to enter mercy for our lives, we need to acknowledge that which we are grieving, whether it is losing a person, or losing a dream for what you wished your marriage to be, grieving an illusion that was also very real, because you held it in your heart..... 

We practice so many things in life, but we often don't practice what it means to be human. I have found thinking about the Liturgical Calendar as practicing the seasons of being human to be so very helpful.... seasons of celebration, seasons of waiting, seasons of Joy, and Seasons of practicing the art of grief and letting go, as we see in the season of Lent....

An episode about how much of our lives we spend "looking for ourselves" some where outside of our selves..... when we've been right here the entire time, waiting for us to notice! 

An episode of how God is always offering us healing and light and newness in our stories, one day, one moment at a time! Please note that shifting and reframing our stories takes much time, so let time take time. It also is not pretending all is easy and light and holding hands with your dog as you skip through the park! It's about diving into the depths and reality and discovering what is underneath it all: Love. Here we "recover" who we are. Alongside your personal work, I also suggest walking forward through it all with a counsellor that you "click" with.... Grace and Peace, Friends!
