Day 119: David's Wisdom (2024)
In the last chapters of 1 Samuel, Fr. Mike focuses on David's wisdom in battle through his prayer and ability to unite the people of Israel. He also touches on Psalm 18 and how wonderful things can happen once we allow ourselves to be loved by God. Today's readings are 1 Samuel 29-31 and Psalm 18.

Day 118: King Saul Despairs (2024)
Fr. Mike reflects on King Saul's despair in the face of trial, and how he seeks other means of comfort when he feels like God has abandoned him. God never abandons us, especially in the midst of danger. Fr. Mike invites us to place our trust in God's promise, instead of resorting to sinful acts. Hey y’all reading!
All the way from The Netherlands I’d like to write a small review of the most amazing podcast out there. Truly though, this podcast can change lives, because God changes lives!
I am about to finish Luke’s gospel (day 321), and this journey has brought me so much closer to God. Together with my wife we try and find a deeper meaning of faith. Because of the many explanations and tips/tricks to get closer to God, you really keep on going and listen to the bible.
I listen to this podcast while driving to work (30mins), sometimes I lose focus listening, but when father Schmitz does the explanation I always understand what God told me.
Although at first I tried to skip the intro, it’s important to know what is about to be read.
Father Schmitz’ his voice is very easy to listen to, and Jeff also has a clear voice!
You guys are a blessing! Thank you!

Thankful but a little disappointed
I don’t want to deceive to much with my title and note that this podcast has inevitably still have 5 stars. I’m eternally thankful for the Bible in a year podcast that made it possible to hear the Bible every day while having a very busy life. I’m really going to miss it. The little disappointment is that the great adventure Bible is not available or very hard to get outside of the USA. For me living in Europe it is a very big challenge or impossible to get to the Bible. I hope that ascension organization can do a better job in making the Bible available for the market outside the USA. Other than this, excellence is an understatement…
