You are an ecosystem!
The diversity of plants and animals provide resiliency to different ecosystems across the globe. Similarly, our human microbial ecosystem relies on us to support its diversity to maintain our health. Our body has trillions of microbes living in and on it. These microbes are collectively known as the microbiome.
Our understanding and awareness of it is relatively new in the context of human health and medicine.
But just like the diversity in nature that allows the ecosystems to thrive, the diversity in our microbiome allows our physical, mental, and emotional health to thrive.
True health, prevention, and healing can be found when we realize the human body as an ecosystem.
This is why we decided to create this podcast to help you understand the amazing role and universe of the microbiome and its effect on your health

Episode 27 - Ocean, Beaches and The Microbiome - The Probiotic Generation

It is summertime and that can only mean one thing: Beach, here I go!

Since it is the sunniest time of the year, we thought we’d talk about whether the beach and the ocean are good for our health, and more specifically, our microbiome.

Although it is not a surprise, everything in nature is an ecosystem and needs to be balanced for it to work optimally, and bodies of water are not exempt.

Today you will learn about lakes microbes, ocean microbes, and even sand microbes and we will discuss some other studies as we talk about all this. You will find the links of the studies below.

Episode 26 - Banking Stool Samples - The Probiotic Generation

Episode 26 - Banking Stool Samples - The Probiotic Generation

We are genuinely excited to discuss new research about our incredible microbiome, but of course, we wouldn't talk about this without having with us our expert… Andrea Mcbeth!

Researchers have been debating whether we should try to get our microbiomes back to a more ‘ancestral microbiome’ – the kind of microbiome we had before we had all of these environmental exposures to things that kill members of our microbiomes. This would be the ‘rewilding’ strategy. Essentially the idea would be that we would try to have microbiomes that looked like they did before industrialization.

To understand the details of this amazing paper, listen to this episode and you will be able to understand the amazing power of our microbes!

Episode 25 - The Cannabinoid System with Dr. Joe Feuerstein - The Probiotic Generation

Episode 25 - The Cannabinoid System with Dr. Joe Feuerstein - The Probiotic Generation

Did you know that we all have something called the cannabinoid system? Have you heard about Cannabinoids Food?

Well, this system is one of the most important physiologic systems involved in establishing and maintaining human health. With its complex actions in our immune system, nervous system, and virtually all of the body’s organs, the endocannabinoids are literally a bridge between body and mind. By understanding this system, we begin to see a mechanism that could connect brain activity and states of physical health and disease.

If you want to know more about it, Dr. Joe, Heather, and Romi are here to discuss everything about it and also what a cannabinoid-rich diet means. In addition, we will discuss the new book written by Dr. Joe titled The Cannabinoid Cookbook

Episode 23 -Sleep and the Microbiome - The Probiotic Generation

Food and exercise are two things that significantly impact our microbiome, but there is one more that we sometimes forget and in fact, is one of the most important ones: Sleep!

How many hours do you sleep daily? How exposed are you to the blue light before going to sleep? Did you know we have an internal clock?

All these and more will be covered in this episode. We will talk about different research studies and how the results can be translated into our life.

We hope you enjoy this episode!
