With the great changes we see taking place on a global scale, and the many elites, experts and alarmists pointing us to the next existential crisis, we the people long for stability. History is the great marker that tells us what we can expect as the stories of the past tend to repeat themselves in the present. A global reset of governance lies on the horizon and two choices lie before us. To toe the line, or to hold the line.

We will always remember. But remembering isn't just about documenting or filing away images of the past. To truly remember, we must learn to embody the best of us. September 11, 2001 was such a time in our recent history that should stir us to be what we once were and can be again. To put away hate; To love mercy; To live justly; To have the courage of being our brother's keeper. This is how we remember: By never forgetting.

What is the salvation we’re looking for? One that repairs the rift between race, stops wars, ends pollution, brings about world peace, but doesn’t end strife, aging, forced compliance, depression, despondence, loss and death. What kind of a hopeful future is that? What do we ultimately put our faith in?

My body, my choice. Isn't this the rallying cry of those who supposedly stand for freedom? Liberty of conscience isn't a question of if, it is a declaration of right. The right to be and the right to live free.

The story of two Americas is in our history and in our present. But more importantly, it is found in who I am and who you are. How the rest of the story goes lies in the choice each one of us makes. After almost a year of a pandemic, a broken society and the threat of authoritarianism, the courage to stand for freedom is more and more relevant and urgent in the days ahead.

2021 has begun and with it a choice to make. You, I, each of us stand at a crossroads of truth. Now more than ever, we must choose to shine that light of truth to the whole world. Because in the end those who have the courage to shine the light of truth will win.
