What would you pray if you were stuck in the middle of a fish?  
 
As far as we know, there’s only one person that can answer that question from experience, and that’s Jonah.  
 
A far more common question would be…
 
What would you pray if you felt abandoned by God?  Banished. Trapped. Terrified.  
 
Those feelings also applied to Jonah while he was in the fish but many, many, many people also feel that way.  Life isn’t always sunshine and roses. We can feel swallowed by the trials of this world.  Listen to todays devotion and see what Jonah prayed when he was trapped inside the fish and how we can apply it to our own lives. .

When Judgement Day comes, there’s no other questions to be asked, no bribery that can be offered to the judge, there’s no way to get out of it.  When some people think about Judgement Day they can feel scared or anxious about it.  People back in Obadiah’s day felt the same way.  Even though they feared it, they were living God-less lives and seeming like they were getting away with their behavior.  Listen to todays message from Obadiah 15-17 and hear God tell them they weren’t getting away with it and Judgement Day was coming.  May you find peace knowing your sins wiped clean by your faith in Jesus alone! There’s no reason to fear Judgment Day!

Have you ever considered the alternative of the prayer, “thy will be done”?  C.S. Lewis had a quote that said, “There are two types of people in the world, those who say “thy will be done Lord” and then there are people to whom God will say “thy will be done”.” 
 
What it means is there are christians who trust Jesus and His will for their life.  Then there’s people who continue to ignore God and want their way and God says, “fine sinner, have it your way. Your will be done.”   To live as though God is not a factor and blame Him for all the wrong in the world would be a cold life leading to separation from Him for eternity.  
 
Today we’ll look at Amos 8:11-12 when the people were shutting down God’s word. May you find peace in trusting God’s plan for you and letting His will be done!
