Are you serving in the church yet finding yourself distant from God? Have you been hiding from Him, even though He is ready to help you? God has not given up calling us, even if we keep Him at arm's length, often replacing Him with our work and family. In today’s sermon, Rev. Dr. William Chang explained how guilt paralyses us, preventing us from moving forward and keeping us lukewarm in our faith. Are we hiding from God? Are there areas of our lives that we need to confess and seek His forgiveness? Return to God, who desires us as His own and repeatedly calls us back to be His children.

Today's Sunday Service was a celebration of Father's Day, underscoring the profound sanctity of fatherhood. Preacher Allan Ng, in his sermon, drew parallels between God the Father's relationship with Jesus and earthly father-son dynamics, discussing how aligning the latter with the former could achieve God's vision for spiritual revival. The highlight came when our young adults and youths expressed their love and gratitude for their fathers. The service culminated in a moving prayer led by Rev Dr William Chang, who blessed and honoured all the fathers in our congregation.

"Living in alignment with God's will leads to a flourishing life, or a life of shalom, where we experience peace with God. However, a flourishing life is not a perfect life; challenges and difficulties will still arise. With the help of the Holy Spirit, we can understand the troubles we face and remain steadfast in the place where God intends us to be. When we honor God and prioritize Him in our lives, others will be drawn to us. In doing so, we become the salt and light of the earth, leading people to Jesus."

Jesus did not dwell on the disbelief and weaknesses of the disciples but looked into their future spiritual maturity when He prayed for God the Father to strengthen the church in His Name. It is inevitable that even believers sin and are tempted by the devil. Do we therefore wish that our problems would go away or ought we to pray for the power to overcome them? Br Lim Geok Seng at today's sermon explained the relevance of Jesus' parting prayer to our walk with Christ. May God empower us to be the salt and light of the world, even though we are not of this world!

Br Cheng Eng Hwa's Mother's Day sermon today highlighted the extraordinary privilege of motherhood, bestowed by God. He emphasized that a believing mother's duty extends far beyond providing for her children materially or ensuring secular success. Her greatest responsibility is to nurture their faith and instill in them godly values. The Divine Service also included touching expressions of gratitude and love toward mothers by both the young adult and children ministries.
