Not The Wisdom Of This Age

Not The Wisdom Of This Age

Proverbs 9:10. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight. 1 Corinthians 2:6-10 We do, however, speak a message of wisdom among the mature, but not the wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. No, we declare God’s wisdom, a mystery that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began. None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. However, as it is written:
    “What no eye has seen,
    what no ear has heard,
and what no human mind has conceived”—
the things God has prepared for those who love him—
these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit.
The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. Proverbs 3:13-18. Blessed are those who find wisdom, those who gain understanding, for she is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than gold. She is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her. Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor. Her ways are pleasant ways, and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her; those who hold her fast will be blessed. Colossians 2:2-3. My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. Isaiah 5:21 Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, and shrewd in their own sight. Jeremiah 33:3 Call out to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known. Proverbs 24:14 Know that wisdom is such to your soul; if you find it, there will be a future, and your hope will not be cut off. John 8:12 Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.

    Arise Gideon! Arise!

    Arise Gideon! Arise!

It’s time for you to stop hiding in the caves and the mountains. It is time for you to face the enemy. It is time to stop the oppression, brutality and suppression! It is time to destroy the locusts! It is time to destroy the altars if Baal and all that come with it! More importantly, it is time to look at your self in the mirror and know that God is talking to you, yes you, valiant and mighty warrior! It’s time to save your people! Arise Gideon! Arise! Judges Chapter 6. Verses 7-15 —7 When the Israelites cried out to the Lord because of Midian, 8 he sent them a prophet, who said, “This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: I brought you up out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. 9 I rescued you from the hand of the Egyptians. And I delivered you from the hand of all your oppressors; I drove them out before you and gave you their land. 10 I said to you, ‘I am the Lord your God; do not worship the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you live.’ But you have not listened to me.”

11 The angel of the Lord came and sat down under the oak in Ophrah that belonged to Joash the Abiezrite, where his son Gideon was threshing wheat in a winepress to keep it from the Midianites. 12 When the angel of the Lord appeared to Gideon, he said, “The Lord is with you, mighty warrior.”

13 “Pardon me, my lord,” Gideon replied, “but if the Lord is with us, why has all this happened to us? Where are all his wonders that our ancestors told us about when they said, ‘Did not the Lord bring us up out of Egypt?’ But now the Lord has abandoned us and given us into the hand of Midian.”

14 The Lord turned to him and said, “Go in the strength you have and save Israel out of Midian’s hand. Am I not sending you?”

15 “Pardon me, my lord,” Gideon replied, “but how can I save Israel? My clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my family.”

    When God Permits The Darkness

    When God Permits The Darkness

It is not always, Sin, Satan and family bloodlines and patterns that will bring darkness, chaos and havoc into a man’s or woman’s life. Sometimes, God permits the darkness for reasons and a purpose best known to Him. He will permit it and allow it to stay for a season and a reason. It is not to punish us, although it will feel like that, but because there is a deeper meaning to and for the darkness and chaos, which we cannot even begin to fathom or comprehend. -Proverbs 16:4 “The Lord hath made all things for himself, yea even the wicked for the day of evil.” Yes, I hate to say it, difficult to digest, but even evil can be an instrument in the hand of God. —2 Corinthians 12:7 “Therefore, in order to keep me from becoming conceited, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me.” Paul did NOT have a thorn in his flesh, he was GIVEN the thorn. Sometimes God will remove His hedge of protection not to kill us but to protect us from ourselves. He will use the darkness, the thorns, the messengers of Satan, send the storm and chaos, if and when He pleases, and how He sees fit for our own good. He gives Satan power over our lives, for a moment and a season. —Job 1:12 “The LORD said to Satan, “Very well, then, everything he has is in your power, but not the man himself do not lay a finger on him.” What does one do, what can one do, when God in His Sovereignty permits Satan to unleash wicked havoc in our lives? Will we still love God? What do we do, what should we do, in such anguishing moments? -Job 1:22 In all this, Job did not sin by charging God with wrongdoing.” Yes, he spoke out in his pain. -Job 7:11 “Therefore, I will not keep silent; I will speak out in the anguish of my spirit, I will complain in the bitterness of my soul…” Why? —Job 6:4 “The arrows of the Almighty are in me, my spirit drinks in their poison; God’s terrors are marshaled against me.” —Job 16:12 All was well with me, but he shattered me; he seized me by the neck and crushed me.” —Job 19:10 He tears me down on every side till I am gone; he uproots my hope like a tree. His anger burns against me;…” —Job 30-19:21 He throws me into the mud, and I am reduced to dust and ashes. I stand up, but you merely look at me. You turn on me ruthlessly; with the night of your hand you attack me.” What do you do when God turns on you and you don’t know why? Who should you turn to? HIM. —Job 19:25-27 “I know that my redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand on the earth. And after my skin has been destroyed, yet in my flesh I will see God; I myself will see him with my own eyes — I, and not another. How my heart yearns within me.” Even when Job realized that God permitted the darkness, he still yearned for Him. And in the end he saw Him. —Job 42:5 “My ears had heard of you but now my eyes have seen you.” In the end, Job Chapter 42, he ended up getting twice more than he possessed before the darkness God had permitted in his life. What darkness has God permitted in your life? Why? The answer is different for each of us, but one thing remains the same. If we stay with Him and look up to Him in the darkness, WE WILL SEE HIM.

    The Mordecai Effect

    The Mordecai Effect

Who would Esther be without Mordecai? Where would Esther be without Mordecai? There are so many teachings about Esther. It’s always about Esther. However, would she have even existed without Mordecai? Would she have made, from the eunuch Hegai gatekeeper to the king’s harem, to the palace to become the queen? Would Esther have had the courage and level headedness to declare, “if I perish, I perish?” We have not given the honor that is due to Mordecai. He was the foundation, the anchor, the strength, wisdom and courage that raised and groomed Esther, imparting into her precision, skillful communication, character, discernment and quiet but effective power. Mordecai raised a child who became the woman who saved a nation. He was watchful, strategic, caring, fearless, God-confident and immovable. The Book of Esther itself ends with praising and celebrating Mordecai and not Esther. To all the Mordecai’s out there, please rise up. Please stand up. We need you!

Who And What Are You Drunk With?

Who And What Are You Drunk With?

You can be drunk with God’s Spirit and be complete, or, you can be drunk with the spirits and systems of this world and be deplete. You can be drunk with prayer, kindness, courage and strength, and build, or be drunk with bitterness, anger, envy, jealousy and meanness and destroy. You can be drunk with the power and gifts of God, or, drunk with failure and rejection. What you are drunk with, who you are drunk with, can cripple you or raise you up. Will you languish, be limited and barren in drunkenness or will you thrive, break the ceiling and bear fruit? Depends on who and what you choose to be dunk in and with. Will you be drunk with self-pity or drunk with selflessness? What and who will your drunkenness give birth to? Who and what will your drunkenness produce? Who and what will your drunkenness produce? When you read, 1 Samuel Chapter 1, Hannah, made it clear that her seeming drunkenness was actually her prayer of anguish and grief to God to bless her with a son and God did it for her. What is your anguish and grief? What is your state of barrenness? Will you be drunk in God and allow Him fulfill you, or will you rely on someone else, something else, to be drunk in, and become unfulfilled?

Put That Mocking Spirit To Shame

Put That Mocking Spirit To Shame

Do NOT allow a mocking spirit to make you weak and hopeless. Do NOT permit mocking spirits to cripple you. Do NOT give their contempt, mockery, scoffing, caustic and scathing words license to pull you apart. Do NOT give power to their disdainful and disparaging words to pull you down and keep you down. Be defiant. Do NOT give room to their twisted methods of trying to make you a caricature because of their own insecurities. Do NOT become victim to a mocking spirit otherwise you, your life and dreams will crumble. Defy that spirit and create. Defy that spirit and build! Nehemiah Chapter 4 - When Sanballat heard that we were rebuilding the wall, he became angry and was greatly incensed. He ridiculed the Jews, 2 and in the presence of his associates and the army of Samaria, he said, “What are those feeble Jews doing? Will they restore their wall? Will they offer sacrifices? Will they finish in a day? Can they bring the stones back to life from those heaps of rubble—burned as they are?
3 Tobiah the Ammonite, who was at his side, said, “What they are building—even a fox climbing up on it would break down their wall of stones!”

4 Hear us, our God, for we are despised. Turn their insults back on their own heads. Give them over as plunder in a land of captivity. 5 Do not cover up their guilt or blot out their sins from your sight, for they have thrown insults in the face of the builders.

6 So we rebuilt the wall till all of it reached half its height, for the people worked with all their heart.

7 But when Sanballat, Tobiah, the Arabs, the Ammonites and the people of Ashdod heard that the repairs to Jerusalem’s walls had gone ahead and that the gaps were being closed, they were very angry. 8 They all plotted together to come and fight against Jerusalem and stir up trouble against it. 9 But we prayed to our God and posted a guard day and night to meet this threat.

10 Meanwhile, the people in Judah said, “The strength of the laborers is giving out, and there is so much rubble that we cannot rebuild the wall.”

11 Also our enemies said, “Before they know it or see us, we will be right there among them and will kill them and put an end to the work.”

12 Then the Jews who lived near them came and told us ten times over, “Wherever you turn, they will attack us.”

13 Therefore I stationed some of the people behind the lowest points of the wall at the exposed places, posting them by families, with their swords, spears and bows. 14 After I looked things over, I stood up and said to the nobles, the officials and the rest of the people, “Don’t be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, who is great and awesome, and fight for your families, your sons and your daughters, your wives and your homes.”

15 When our enemies heard that we were aware of their plot and that God had frustrated it, we all returned to the wall, each to our own work.

16 From that day on, half of my men did the work, while the other half were equipped with spears, shields, bows and armor. The officers posted themselves behind all the people of Judah 17 who were building the wall. Those who carried materials did their work with one hand and held a weapon in the other, 18 and each of the builders wore his sword at his side as he worked. But the man who sounded the trumpet stayed with me.

19 Then I said to the nobles, the officials and the rest of the people, “The work is extensive and spread out, and we are widely separated from each other along the wall. 20 Wherever you hear the sound of the trumpet, join us there. Our God will fight for us!”

21 So we continued the work with half the men holding spears, from the first light of dawn till the stars came out. 22 At that time I also said to the people, “Have every man and his helper stay inside Jerusalem at night, so they can serve us as guards by night and as workers by day.” 23 Neither I nor my brothers nor my men nor the guards with me took off our clothes; each had his weapon, even when
