    Ball Talk #73 Angela Doohan

    Ball Talk #73 Angela Doohan

For this podcast I sit down with a true legend of Sligo LGFA, Angela Doohan. A fourteen time championship winner with St Nathy’s, she also captained Sligo to an All Ireland in 2006. With an illustrious club and county career, we had plenty to go to - including the initial startup of the St Nathy’s club, the changes in standards at club and county level, experiencing a county final for the first time as a spectator, and of course we go through the Team Mates segment.

Who's the biggest moaner on the Sligo team and who's the hot stepper? Find out here!

Ball Talk #71 Fr Dan O'Mahony

Ball Talk #71 Fr Dan O'Mahony

Yes in this latest instalment of the podcast we've got our second of the O'Mahony brothers (after John) to join us. Dan O'Mahony not only won senior championship medals with Tourlestrane and his native Ballaghadereen, as well as an intermediate with Ballymote - he captained Maynooth to a Sigerson cup, as well as representing both Sligo and Mayo in the Connacht championship in consecutive years. There's a lot to take in here for the football heads, and interesting as to how the GAA was an advantage for him in any parish he entered.

    Ball Talk #70 Jack Lavin

We're back in the swing of things, and again this week we give credit to the achievements of the Sligo U20 footballers as my guest is captain of the team Jack Lavin. Listen here about the rollercoaster of a year, putting the foot down to get a Connacht final to Markievicz park, the impact of sports psychology, and Jack answers the all important question - who's the hot stepper of the team??
