Build The Song is a Podcast hosted by Robbie Silverarm on a cool, old 1970 Yacht in Downtown Honolulu. He helps Songwriting Creators get fired-up to create more music. He has a way of getting everybody inspired⏤ especially those struggling in their songwriting process.
Robbie grew up learning to sing and play guitar from Chris Cornell, of Soundgarden. He'll share what he's learned from Chris, as well as songs he's inspired Robbie to write. In the audio you'll hear some sail lines jangling and motorboats going by. Hope you don't mind.

017 Songwriting doesn’t have to be so “raw & real”
In this episode I describe how that song writers have a often limited themselves by thinking they have to be so raw and real with their emotions and their experiences as they incorporate them into songwriting.
Each time you write a song that has depressing lyrics, you will have to revisit those same emotions every time you sing that song. If you’re writing a song about your old boyfriend… what about when the new boyfriend comes, how is that going to feel?
You’re the artist. You can paint whatever you want. Don’t be held back by preconceptions. Now is your time to be alive. Right like you were alive. Build your song today.
