NEW - The King Has Come

Luke 19-28-44, -28- And when he had said these things, he went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem. -29- When he drew near to Bethphage-and Bethany, at the mount that is called Olivet, he sent two of-the disciples, -30- saying, -Go into the village in front of you,-where on entering you will find a colt tied, on which no one has-ever yet sat. Untie it and bring it here. -31- If anyone asks you,-'Why are you untying it--' you shall say this- 'The Lord has need-of it.'- -32- So those who were sent went away and found it just-as he had told them. -33- And as they were untying the colt, its-owners said to them, -Why are you untying the colt--- -34- And-they said, -The Lord has need of it.- -35- And they brought it to-Jesus, and throwing their cloaks on the colt, they set Jesus on it.--36- And as he rode along, they spread their cloaks on the road.--37- As he was drawing near-already on the way down the-Mount of Olives-the whole multitude of his disciples began to-rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works-that they had seen, -38- saying, -Blessed is the King who comes-in the name of the Lord- Peace in heaven and glory in the-highest-- -39- And some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to-him, -Teacher, rebuke your disciples.- -40- He answered, -I tell-you, if these were silent, the very stones would cry out.---41- And when he drew near and saw the city, he wept over-it, -42- saying, -Would that you, even you, had known on this day-the things that make for peace- But now they are hidden from-your eyes. -43- For the days will come upon you, when your-enemies will set up a barricade around you and surround you and-hem you in on every side -44- and tear you down to

HE HAS RISEN! - Proclaiming the Resurrection!

HE HAS RISEN! - Proclaiming the Resurrection!

Luke 24 -vv. 1-12, 36-49---1- But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they went to-the tomb, taking the spices they had prepared. -2- And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb, -3- but when they went in they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. -4- While they were perplexed-about this, behold, two men stood by them in dazzling apparel. -5--And as they were frightened and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them, -Why do you seek the living among the dead-- -6- He is not here, but has risen. Remember how he told you, while he was still in Galilee, -7- that the Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men and be crucified and on the third day rise.- -8- And they remembered his words, -9- and returning from the tomb they told all these things to the eleven and to all the rest. -10- Now it was Mary Magdalene and Joanna and Mary the mother of James and the other women with them who told these things to the apostles, -11- but these words seemed to them an idle tale, and they did not believe them. -12- But Peter rose and ran to the tomb- stooping and looking in, he saw the linen cloths by themselves- and he went home marveling at what had happened. . . .--36- As they were talking about these things, Jesus himself-stood among them, and said to them, -Peace to you-- -37- But they-were startled and frightened and thought they saw a spirit. -38- And he said to them, -Why are you troubled, and why do doubts arise in your hearts-- -39- See my hands and my feet, that it is I myself. Touch me, and see. For a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see that I have.- -40- And when he had said this, he showed them his hands and his feet.

    NEW - The Lost Son

Luke 15-11-32,--11- And he said, -There was a man who had two sons. -12--And the younger of them said to his father, 'Father, give me the-share of property that is coming to me.' And he divided his-property between them. -13- Not many days later, the younger-son gathered all he had and took a journey into a far country,-and there he squandered his property in reckless living. -14--And when he had spent everything, a severe famine arose in-that country, and he began to be in need. -15- So he went and-hired himself out to one of the citizens of that country, who-sent him into his fields to feed pigs. -16- And he was longing to-be fed with the pods that the pigs ate, and no one gave him-anything.--17- -But when he came to himself, he said, 'How many of-my father's hired servants have more than enough bread, but I-perish here with hunger- -18- I will arise and go to my father, and-I will say to him, -Father, I have sinned against heaven and-before you. -19- I am no longer worthy to be called your son.-Treat me as one of your hired servants.-' -20- And he arose and-came to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father-saw him and felt compassion, and ran and embraced him and-kissed him. -21- And the son said to him, 'Father, I have sinned-against heaven and before you. I am no longer worthy to be-called your son.' -22- But the father said to his servants, 'Bring-quickly the best robe, and put it on him, and put a ring on his-hand, and shoes on his feet. -23- And bring the fattened calf and-kill it, and let us eat and celebrate. -24- For this my son was dead,-and is alive again- he was lost, and is found.' And they began to-celebrate.--25- -Now his older son was

But Whom do You Say I Am

But Whom do You Say I Am

13 Now when Jesus came into the district of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, -Who do people say that the Son of Man is--- 14 And they said, -Some say John the Baptist, others say Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.- 15 He said to them, -But who do you say that I am--- 16 Simon Peter replied, -You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.- 17 And Jesus answered him, -Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah- For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven. 18 And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock2 I will build my church, and the gates of lhell3 shall not prevail against it. 19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed4 in heaven.- 20 Then he strictly charged the disciples to tell no one that he was the Christ.
