History made real
Even the historical subjects I thought were boring about meaningless battles in the Americas become about migration, personalities and the quirky people who are made living in the descriptions of their oxymoronic or taciturn statements, hypocritical behaviour, the prideful and the unfortunate. Sometimes I surprise myself by encouraging and hoping well for the likeable yet nutty character who breaks all the rules because of a fervent belief in something a little nuts.
You can tell this team research deeply in letters and news articles and find the story that would be written about them today in a magazine format, entertaining, engaging. Then voice acted using tricks and sound Queues from the mid 20th century radio. All 'round, I find it Damn Interesting.
Always Amazing
Every episode is absolutely fascinating and so well produced. I have been listening for years and much like a previous reviewer mentioned, it’s always exciting when a new episode pops up. Highly recommended.
One of the most underrated podcasts out there.
I listen to a lot of podcasts, but whenever I see the notification for a new damn interesting episode I get a rush of excitement. The less frequent releases speaks to the high production quality and effort put into each and every episode. This is how historical storytelling should be done; accurately and with style. Damn interesting deserves far more recognition than it gets!
