Grit vs Talent - Which is Most Important?

Grit vs Talent - Which is Most Important?

The loss of Oswald was a profound personal and professional setback for me. He was the first character to capture my ambitions for animation, and his departure was like losing a part of my own creative spirit. Yet, it was in this moment of financial peril and creative void that I found the inspiration for something new.
In the sketches that followed, Mickey Mouse came to life—a character born out of necessity, embodying the resilience and hope I clung to. Mickey wasn’t just a new venture; he was a testament to perseverance, a symbol that from the ashes of defeat, we can rise to create our greatest successes.

This week we will explore the importance of Grit vs. Talent.

    Rock and Roll Creativity

    Rock and Roll Creativity

It happened in 1965. He woke up one morning with this tune in his head. It was so vivid, so catchy, that he was convinced it must have been a song he’d heard before. He actually spent the next few days asking people if they recognized it, but no one did. That's when he realized it was something new.
He quickly grabbed his guitar and started playing the melody, trying to figure out where it came from. The words came to him as he played, and within a very short time, the whole song seemed to be there. It was like the universe just handed it to him while he was sleeping.

Today we’ll explore the secrets of creativity through some rock music stories.

Smartphones - The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

Smartphones - The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

According to Data.ai the average American spends over 4 hours a day on their smartphones. It’s linked to increased Attention Deficit issues, Sleep Disturbances, and Anxiety and Depression.
BUT … It also allows for improved connection with friends and family, better health monitoring, more control of our finances. We all know the scene:

We walk into a restaurant, and people are barely talking to each other, noses in the phone, and attention focused on this little glowing rectangle, no one is talking, just scrolling, scrolling, scrolling.
This can't be good for us.
