    Psalm 53 New King James Version (NKJV)

    Folly of the Godless, and the Restoration of Israel
    To the Chief Musician. Set to “Mahalath.” A Contemplation[a] of David.

    53 The fool has said in his heart,
    “There is no God.”
    They are corrupt, and have done abominable iniquity;
    There is none who does good.
    2 God looks down from heaven upon the children of men,
    To see if there are any who understand, who seek God.
    3 Every one of them has turned aside;
    They have together become corrupt;
    There is none who does good,
    No, not one.
    4 Have the workers of iniquity no knowledge,
    Who eat up my people as they eat bread,
    And do not call upon God?
    5 There they are in great fear
    Where no fear was,
    For God has scattered the bones of him who encamps against you;
    You have put them to shame,
    Because God has despised them.
    6 Oh, that the salvation of Israel would come out of Zion!
    When God brings back the captivity of His people,
    Let Jacob rejoice and Israel be glad.

    James 5:1-6 New King James Version (NKJV)

    Rich Oppressors Will Be Judged
    5 Come now, you rich, weep and howl for your miseries that are coming upon you! 2 Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are moth-eaten. 3 Your gold and silver are corroded, and their corrosion will be a witness against you and will eat your flesh like fire. You have heaped up treasure in the last days. 4 Indeed the wages of the laborers who mowed your fields, which you kept back by fraud, cry out; and the cries of the reapers have reached the ears of the Lord of Sabaoth.[a] 5 You have lived on the earth in pleasure and luxury; you have fattened your hearts as[b] in a day of slaughter. 6 You have condemned, you have murdered the just; he does not resist you.

    10/19/14 PM The Face of Evil Psalm 52 Pastor Bill Hilley

    Psalm 52 New King James Version (NKJV)

    The End of the Wicked and the Peace of the Godly
    To the Chief Musician. A Contemplation[a] of David when Doeg the Edomite went and told Saul, and said to him, “David has gone to the house of Ahimelech.”

    52 Why do you boast in evil, O mighty man?
    The goodness of God endures continually.
    2 Your tongue devises destruction,
    Like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.
    3 You love evil more than good,
    Lying rather than speaking righteousness. Selah
    4 You love all devouring words,
    You deceitful tongue.
    5 God shall likewise destroy you forever;
    He shall take you away, and pluck you out of your dwelling place,
    And uproot you from the land of the living. Selah
    6 The righteous also shall see and fear,
    And shall laugh at him, saying,
    7 “Here is the man who did not make God his strength,
    But trusted in the abundance of his riches,
    And strengthened himself in his wickedness.”
    8 But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God;
    I trust in the mercy of God forever and ever.
    9 I will praise You forever,
    Because You have done it;
    And in the presence of Your saints
    I will wait on Your name, for it is good.

    10/19/14 AM The Peril of Presumption James 4:13-17 Pastor Bill Hilley

    James 4:13-17 New King James Version (NKJV)

    Do Not Boast About Tomorrow
    13 Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will[a] go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit”; 14 whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. 15 Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that.” 16 But now you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil.

    17 Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.
