Poto 009 - Tikanga and Tangents

Nau mai haere mai e hoa mā. We've changed things up a little i tēnei tau. Our poto episodes are now a mix of kōrero with some regular segments that we hope you'll get to know and love. I tēnei wiki we kōrero about kai in kids play, and Tessa has her Tīpako Pukapuka (librarians choice). Homai tō whakahoki kōrero e hoa mā!

    Patapatai 007 - Melissa Farrell

I tēnei wiki we kōrero with Melissa Farrell a primary school teacher and moko of one of the Kōhanga Reo founders. We talk about how Te Reo Māori is actually already compulsory in schools and how we need to get on to solutions to growing the Reo rather than working out where to place blame.

    Patapatai 006 - Amiria Puia-Taylor

    Patapatai 006 - Amiria Puia-Taylor

I tēnei wiki here's a great kōrero with Amiria Puia-Taylor, People Weaver and one of the driving forces behind The 312 Hub in Onehunga. It's mainly just Amiria sharing all her amazing whakaaro and Jen and Tessa trying to not be overwhelmed in the presence of this total Kuini.

    Poto 008 - Pepeha

    Poto 008 - Pepeha

This week our kōrerorero is all about the complexities of pepeha, as in who should do it and what you include. We share our extremely non-expert opinions and ask whether Pākehā should even do a pepeha at all. Auē!

Good kaupapa, bad sound

The topics and discussions are interesting, conversations are natural, flowing, informative and relevant - when you can hear them. The sound production is all over the place. One person will sound nice and clear, then another person in the same Discussion sounds like they’re at the other end of the room and at a tenth of the volume. There are many instances of horrible distortion, plosives that implode your ears drums, and a general harsh sound over all. Ineas so disappointed when I became so frustrated reaching for the volume buttons every 10’seconds that I stopped listening. Such a shame that this awesome knowledge resource is ruined by technical incompetence.
