September 3rd is coming fast.  Week zero games are being played and soon the official start to the 2022 Ottawa University. Braves Football season is coming.  In the special edition of the Football, Family, and Food podcast we bring back Coordinator’s Corner.  Its chance to speak with Head Coach Nick Davis, Offensive Coordinator Tyler Hennes, and Defensive Coordinator Dante Bartee.  In our first official chance to speak with the Coordinators, we find out what made the Ottawa University Braves an attractive place to be?  What has surprised them so far?  Do either one challenge for the position of “Chief Energy Officer”?

We talk with Coach Davis about the scrimmage with Mid American Nazarene and how things break down from here as we pick up speed to the start of the 2022 season.  It wouldn’t be an episode “Triple F” if we didn’t discuss food.  We find out the goto’s for both Coach Bartee and Coach Hennes since coming to Ottawa.  Sit back, relax and check in on the status of the Ottawa University Braves Football program as we are now in the fast land to the start of the season.

In writing, they say to never open with a question.  Of course, who am I to follow the one’s who make up the rules of writing?  Do you know that feeling you get during the holidays?  Giddiness, unrelenting joy, and maybe a bit of nausea.  I have all of those.  Football season is right around the corner and your Ottawa University Braves have opened Fall Football camp.  

With this edition of the Football, Family, and Food Podcast, I speak with Braves Head Football Coach Nick Davis about camp opening.  What happens during the first few days of camp?  There is a jaunty discussion on Football Media Day.  We then turn to the upcoming scrimmage with Mid-America Nazarene and what happens after, and of course, this podcast will not be complete unless we discuss food.  Coach Davis and I discuss pizza and our favorites when the Braves are on the road.  

What started out as a June podcast quickly turned into a July podcast as we finally drop the latest edition of the Football, Family, and Food Podcast.  

We are just over a month away from Fall Camp opening up and on this edition of the podcast, Coach Davis and I discuss the different camps that have taken place.  Looking for possible “diamonds in the rough” to add to the Braves Football team.  There is a new Defensive Coordinator for Ottawa University, but at the time of the podcast, the name was not released.  We’ll cover the new D-coordinator on a future podcast.  Plus, Coach Davis discusses his Top Five BBQ places that are not in Ottawa, KS.  

Momma Mia! It's time for the latest edition of the Nick Davis Podcast, sure we haven't named it yet, but Coach has been working hard to perfect his special recipe to bring home another KCAC Conference Championship this fall. This edition of the podcast features a discussion on changes at Defensive Coordinator.  What qualities are looked at to fill the void? Coach Davis was named the new Head Coach in November of 2021 after former Coach Kent Kessinger retired after a fantastic career at Ottawa University. During my discussion with Coach Davis, we look at his first year at Ottawa University as Defensive Coordinator. What surprised him and what he wished he knew coming into the position.
