Professional scarer James P. "Sulley" Sullivan and his sidekick Mike Wazowski work at an industrial plant that collects the screams of children to use as power. Unfortunately for them, a young child, nicknamed Boo, slips into the monster world, and it is up the the two of them to get her home. Along the way, they discover that human children aren't as toxic as they thought, and that laughter is much more powerful than screams.
