No, For Real The Podcast nfrthepodcast
-
- Society & Culture
Come hangout with host Melody as she has everyday conversations about her experiences with uni, faith, relationships and all things life in REAL time. A mic just happens to be there. Without sugarcoating, she'll offer a fresh perspective in hopes to help Gen Z face and overcome the raw realities of growing up in this generation. She doesn't have all the answers because, just like the rest of us, she's still in the process of learning this thing we call "life".

Post-grad Blues (EP. 17)
Hey all! On this week's episode, I am joined by Ivie Clarke as she shares with us her experience as a newly grad. Just like many of you listening, you may have just recently graduated or are approaching the end of your post-secondary education. Ivie discusses her experience with undergrad, the importance of taking a gap year and her new life as a graduate. We further discuss the importance of "finding yourself" and not falling into the pressures of society's definition of success. I really needed to have this conversation and I hope all of you listening benefit from this episode too :)

"Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to preaching and to teaching. Do not neglect your gift, which was given you through prophecy when the body of elders laid their hands on you. Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress." (1 Timothy 4:13-15)

Parent Trap (EP. 14)
We’ve reached the end of season 2! On today’s season finale, we talk about being kids and believing our parents could do no wrong. As we’ve gotten older, we’ve realized that they’re just people and it’s okay to notice how we’re often different from them. Sometimes we seek validation from our parents and we can get discouraged when they don’t see things our way. We know that at the end of the day our parents want the best for us, but what’s best is different in their eyes. Whether we have differing opinions on marriage, kids, or education, we are always grateful for them.
*From Lisha:
Hey guys, this is my last episode with NFR and I am eternally grateful for the memories I’ve been able to create, the conversations we’ve had, and the opportunity to share myself with all of you! I'll still be supporting and keeping up with NFR and I cannot wait to see where it goes. Thank you all. Much love!

Not Everything's Your Fight (EP. 13)
We’ve had our fair share of social media debates and we see it pretty much everyday. Whether it’s defending your favourite celebrity or cancelling someone’s existence, sometimes it’s just not your fight. In this episode, we talk about the toxicity of cancel culture, entitlement, learning how to mind our business, and separating the art from the artist (or at least trying to). Speaking of artists, we also talk about who we’re listening to, old school vs. new school music, what makes a performer, and artists who deserve their flowers.

It Needed To Be Said (EP. 12)
It’s been almost a year since the start of the pandemic and things seem to be getting more hectic in more ways than one. You can imagine that our thoughts are all over the place, like this episode. We talk about designer clothing, social climbing, our high school experiences, and our encounters with racism. The episode is pretty laid back so grab a snack, get comfortable, and take a break. You probably need it.
