We’re taking a bit of a turn this week as I excitedly bring on my colleague from one of my vanilla gigs, Carlie McPhee, a sexual health educator based in Vancouver, Canada to speak to us about the so-called effects of pornography on children. We analyze the newly-released documentary, “Raised on Porn”, as requested by one of you listeners (thanks @gallegosmash!).

He wanted to know if this film was based on factual merit or evidentiary research or if it was sensationalism at its finest. If you’ve been a long-time listener of the show, you may know that us sex workers get the brunt end of stigmatization, tasteless jokes, the short end of the stick when it comes to policy and acknowledgement, and the list can go on. I bring on Carlie this week to dissect the unintentional role pornography plays in kids’ lives when growing up: as a sexual education tool. We also discuss sexual health education in schools and at home and discuss where the responsibility should lie amongst our kids and youth. With porn being so accessible nowadays, where does it belong? What should we do about it? Share your thoughts with us!

Yay, I get to be a student again! Excited to bring you all the LAST EPISODE of Season 6! To close things off this season, I bring on NYC-based dominatrix, Mx Tomie, onto the show this week to teach us a little thing or two about chastity. Having gone some new chastity subs and harbouring my own curiosity, I invited Tomie to give us a breakdown on what chastity is, why it might appeal to some folks, and get real nerdy on the details around equipment. Since most of Tomie's clients are cis-het men, we speak primarily on cages designed for penises, the different types of material used on them, comfortability, and general hygiene on how to clean them. Of course, no fetish or kink topic can go on without discussing potential harm and general safety guidelines on how to practice chastity play safely with your clients. We also touch on remote chastity play and her thoughts on that as well as the many questions that Tomie's fans have written in. A thoroughly in-depth episode that barely just skims the surface on the topic of chastity but hopefully provides a great introductory lesson on this fun kink.

It's rare that my vanilla world and SW world collide...so you'd best believe I was absolutely thrilled when my colleague and friend, Dr. Brandy Wiebe, pulled me aside at one of our work get-togethers and asked if she could chat with me on the podcast. As a professor at UBC in the Department of Sociology, Brandy is esteemed academic with research specializing in sex, gender and sexuality and feminism. We speak about the history of feminism and how the roots its had in contemporary laws that condemn SW and the impact its had. We discuss the roots of where anti-SW was formed, where it's based and we can kind of see a cyclical repeat happening to our community through general whorephobia. I was really stoked when Sinn Sage of Sage Advice Podcast messaged me that she'd like to come onto the podcast. Sinn is a veteran of our industry, a podcaster like myself, an intellectual, an advocate. Remember peepshows? You might've recalled that it was a thing of the past, or, if you listened to one of my earlier episodes with Sunshine McWane, you'd have been educated on the near extinction of peepshows. Well, it was to my delight to have met Ruby of Ruby's Pop Up Peepshow. As you might've guessed it, Ruby's developed a mobile version of the classic peepshow. Inspired by her many trips to Amsterdam, Ruby wanted to bring the magic and essence back from The Netherlands to Canada.
