Brilliant
I’m only just getting into podcasts (a little on the late side, I know), but within one episode this became my favourite. The sheer joy in your voice at sharing your passion is some refreshing and infectious, without being over the top or put on like some music broadcasts (*cough* Rick Beato *cough*). Just a nerds’ nerd, nerding out over all the stuff we nerd out over too!
What’s really stuck with me from the handful of episodes I’ve listened to so far is your Thump, Pop, Sizzle explanation of the role drums play in music. I think a lot of non-musicians struggle to conceptualise what drums actually do and how they do it, so I’ll definitely be using that to help demystify it for people from now on. Also, if you have any Thump, Pop, Sizzle merch, I’d be so down for that!
Keep up this brilliant work.
Interesting content for patient listeners
I love music and love analysis of things, so analysis of great songs does appeal. This show delivers commentary on a broad range of songs. I find the style of delivery is at times a bit verbose. The seems to be a tendency to say things over and over again and I my opinion the show would be better (and get more stars from me!) if this was addressed.
