Talus Theology is an ICOC podcast helping disciples to address the deeper cultural issues that our generation faces. A talus is a difficult rocky terrain, where greater technique is required.
As followers of Jesus our tendency is to either be consumed by difficult topics or neglect them completely. Neglected things are important, but they shouldn’t supersede the main things. We invite you to study along with us, but this podcast shouldn't supersede your own time with the Lord or your local congregation's leadership.

    Practical Questions Part 1

    Practical Questions Part 1

Daniel, Amanda, and Joey answer a round of practical questions with varying opinions.

What does Galatians 3:28 mean? Can a woman lead worship? Can a woman speak/be on stage on a Sunday without being introduced by a man? Can women lead bible talks? Can a man listen to a female speaker? Can a man read a book by a woman? Why do we lift up headship in Ephesians, but say slavery is bad and not universal? Why could Deborah be judge (civic authority and prophetess) appointed by God? What about Anna the NT prophetess (Luke 2:36-37)? What about other prophetesses Miriam (Ex. 15:20), Huldah (2 Kings 22:14), and Philip’s daughters (Acts 21:8–9)? What if you have questions about this topic, how can you bring up your questions to the leadership of the church? Doesn't 1 Corinthians 7:3-4 show that unilateral authority from the husband is wrong? Isn’t your stress on leadership in the church and headship in the home contrary to the emphasis of Christ in Luke 22:26? Can’t a pastor give authorization for a woman to teach Scripture to the congregation, and then continue to exercise oversight while she teaches? If God has called a woman to be a pastor, then how can you say she should not be one? Do you deny to women the right to use the gifts God has given them?
