The idea of being vulnerable is something I run away from every chance I get. This is becoming an issue as I find myself constantly confronted by situations that trigger me to confront this fear of vulnerability as well as many other things. On this week's episode, by sharing some lessons I have picked up in the past few weeks, I take a scary step towards embracing my vulnerable self.

I introduced two new segments this week. I hope you enjoy listening as much as I enjoyed recording.

What does it look like to have a relaxed and flexible relationship with food? One that is not weighed down by the pressures of society or the unreachable expectations of beauty that we place on ourselves as a result of as said society. On this week's episode, as I reflect on my evolving relationship with food, I discuss 5 takeaways from a recent training.

I hope you enjoy listening as much as I enjoyed recording. ✨
What is your own relationship with food? I would love to hear from you.

    Sincerely, Omaina

    Sincerely, Omaina

    Happy New Year beautiful people,

It has been a while! 6 months, I honestly don’t know where the time went. But A LOT has happened. We are living in “unprecedented” times as they say. It has been crazy, to say the least, but we made it, so cheers to you.

This week's episode is a somewhat 2nd chapter to my open letter to my dad. In it, I share with him the 5 of the current themes in my life. Today would have been my dad’s 54th birthday so Happy Birthday Zakilo, I miss you more than words could ever explain.

I hope you enjoy listening as much as I enjoyed recording.

I honestly forgot how much I love recording, so thank you for giving me the opportunity to come back. Every time I thought of just letting this go, I would randomly stumble on my sound cloud page and saw that you were still listening. So thank you for the gift that is our little corner of the inter-webs.

Don’t forget to like and follow. For all the people who have been listening, thank you for riding with me, and for those who are new, welcome to the fam. I appreciate you more than you know.

    When Did I Become Black?

    When Did I Become Black?

    Hello stranger… 👀
    How’s it going?
    I know I know… it’s been a minute…

"Few people started their lives with fully-fledged black identities, or even with the acute race-consciousness that they later develop" - Amina Mama, Beyond the Masks

This week’s episode is titled, When did I become black? as an acknowledgement of my new found black identity. The reality of my recent experiences is the realization that as a black woman existing in a predominantly white space, I am seen first and foremost by the color of my skin.

This weeks episode speaks directly to why I started this podcast, creating a safe space to find my own voice.. It serves as a form of validation to the experiences I have had in the journey of discovering my blackness.

Head over to the link in bio.. I promise you won't regret it! 😉

I hope you enjoy listening as much as I enjoyed recording for you beautiful folks…

    Emotional Intelligence

    Emotional Intelligence

On this weeks episode, with the help of my guest Lara, we tackle Emotional Intelligence and its manifestations in a variety of contexts. In the spirit of being completely transparent, I was very hesitant about this topic. I think deep down I knew why ,but I did not want to admit it to myself. I was almost 100% sure that I was lacking in the department of emotional intelligence and we all aspire to be “intelligent,” whatever that may mean, so this revelation was a blow. But shoutout to Lara for prompting me to discuss this. It was definitely an experience.

I have a couple questions for you this week. I want to hear from you, please don't leave me hangin *wink*
