Around Campus Caltech

- Science
There is no shortage of things to do and see on campus. Student activities are a plenty, as are events such as convocation, Ditch Day, the ME 72 annual robot contest, and life in the eight houses....Caltech doesn't have dorms. Seven of the eight undergraduate student houses are situated on both sides of the Olive Walk near the southeastern end of the campus. The original four—Blacker, Dabney, Fleming, and Ricketts—were built in 1931. The other three, were completed in 1960, and are named Lloyd, Page, and Ruddock. Avery House is the newest on campus.
