The NASA podcast Houston We Have a Podcast got an episode about The Body in Space. This episode of Marso is heavely based on parts of that podcast, to figure out if people will be able to perform, after landing on Mars.

This month in Marso:

Should Mars have one martian colony, with multiple settlements, or should we recreate the nation states of Earth, on Mars. There's also the possibility of creating nation states on Mars, in much the same way as we know from Earth, but not necessarily corresponding with the nation states of Earth. Could be based on who's sponsoring the colony.

Everyone is talking about plants, when they're talking about food on Mars, or in space in general. Why? Because they seem fascinated with turning all people into vegans. Is that really necessary?

How about fish, chickens, and perhaps even a few mammals? Could it be, that the biggest problem, isn't "wasting" plants, feeding the animals, but rather getting the animals to Mars?

This month in Marso:

There will be three kinds of animals on Mars.
* There will be eco-system animals. They are animals needed as part of the colony eco-system.
* There will be production animals. They are part of the food production.
* And then there will be the animals of todays topic; recreational animals.
That could be pets, but it could also be the first zoo on Mars.

How to dispose of the dead.
No one is going to live forever, not even on Mars. Therefore, going to Mars, without a solid plan for disposing of the dead, will evolve to a macabre affair.

There are a few possibilities:
* Burial, inside
* Burial, outside
* Cremation
* Dump the bodies in a large canion

How should we live on Mars? In science fiction, the most popular choice is domes, but what about the real world? Only a very few seems to favor the domes, over tumuli and caves.
