Dorothy Husen "My Deconversion Was One Chapter"

Dorothy Husen "My Deconversion Was One Chapter"

Dorothy’s book, Breaking the Chains of Transgenerational Trauma: My Journey from Surviving to Thriving is out, and I think it’s great! If you read her book, you’ll understand where she came from, how she moved forward, and how she can help others heal.

The podcast I refer to her being on was a MindDog TV Episode that aired on 12/21/20. She’s been on few more podcasts since then! Just search Dorothy Husen in your podcast app and see what comes up! Her book is not about her deconversion, but it is an interesting and important chapter (in my atheist opinion).

Here’s the Amazon link to get Dorothy’s book…

Her Website: dorothyhusen.com Check out the courses she has available!

This episode was recorded on 12/29/2020! Now that my faith in all things audio related has been thoroughly tested, it is finally airing on 2/21/21. I hope. ;-)

    Jane* THEN

This featured atheist interview by Luke King originally aired in January of 2019. His guest is Jane* (not really). She is so much fun... in a sassy and sarcastic way! You can look forward to hearing where Jane* is now on the next episode and... she'll be using her real name this time!

    Forced Timed to Hang Out!?

This episode is a discussion between Kate and I, mostly on relationships. If you're new to this podcast, Kate's first interview was released on May 5th 2020. She has a book in the publishing process that I am excited to read (or better yet, listen to) when it's ready. She's awesome, and I really enjoy talking with her!

Friendly atheism

After leaving the church I found several podcasts on atheism but most of them expressed too much anger for where I was in the process. Here I found a friendly, community based approach to atheism. Through their FB and Patreon groups I have found a few friends and a friendly community. The podcast features interviews from atheists with varying backgrounds. The host does a great job pulling at those personal details we are eager to hear. It’s good to know I am not alone.

Highly Recommend

Wow! I couldn’t disagree with unbearable more! And to slam someone personally just because they don’t like this particular show is wrong, disrespectful and childish. If I can’t relate to something I just don’t participate. I don’t tell others don’t bother with this. I mean who am I to think that just because I can’t relate, that others won’t either. Who am I to think it’s my opinion only that matters.

I Simply love this Podcast. To hear others stories of coming out of the church has been a therapy of sorts for me. It’s a big deal coming out of a belief in god. It’s a big deal coming out of an institution that has basically lied to you the whole time about this fairytale called Christianity. It’s a big deal leaving relationships/friendships then finding out those you considered family have shun you for leaving.

If you have been abused by the church, you are not alone. Give a listen, you’ll be better for it. And for those who haven’t had it as bad, give a listen to hear and understand why so many have left this lie called religion.
