True Art of Storytelling

These podcasts are truly telling the featured individuals stories, without gimmick, without pretension, but with honesty and respect. Listening to each podcast, I feel enriched having learned something real and true about the individuals living in these communities and the letting go of the misperceptions and stereotypes that imposed on these communities by media and ignorance.

Local Audio Reporting At Its Best

Watershed is exactly the kind of great local audio reporting that has been missing from the recent podcast boom. A great way to learn about the city that doesn't fall into the either/or trap of glowing renaissance tourist narratives or singularly critical narratives of crime and government failures. So far the stories are well-produced and well-written and point towards an ambition to cover the history and nuances of this often-overlooked neighborhood. Plus, we get to hear people tell their own stories rather than have their stories told for them. I particularly like how the intimacy of hearing these voices takes advantage of the audio format and goes further than typical reporting can go. I'm looking forward to following this series and learning more about the neighborhood and the people who call it home. Can't recommend this podcast enough!
