#1 - The Why and the How - Peter Greer, Chris Horst, Jill Heisey

Instead of seeing each other as co-laborers in Christ, fellow leaders and ministries often see each other as rivals—fierce competitors in a seemingly small marketplace for donors and resources. In their newest book, Rooting for Rivals, Peter Greer, Chris Horst, and Jill Heisey address this norm by encouraging Christ followers to lead and serve with open hands instead of clenched fists. In this episode, hear the heart behind the book and how you can help to advance the Kingdom of God through cooperation rather than competition.

Rooting For Rivals

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! It tackles our natural instinct to compete instead of collaborate in ministry, in business, and in life. There were several “aha” moments where I could identify areas of pride and closed-heartedness. There is a better way! When we begin to build God’s Kingdom and not just our “Clan”, we find a whole new way of behaving, thinking, and feeling! Are you willing to look in the mirror and see your honest reflection? Then read this book!
