Challenging “The Mis-Education” of African Americans
It was so refreshing to hear a Professor speak on the importance of teachers, teaching!! Classes about the African American experience, I believe should be taught in elementary school through college. These courses should be taught by African American teachers who can relate to our history and how it has affected their families. So , the first step to correcting the mis-education of African Americans , should be the hiring of more African American teachers. Professor Baskin is a former teacher of mine and I appreciate him being as he stated, “Old Fashion.” He expects and encourages his students to think. He refuses to lower his expectations for anyone and for that I am forever thankful.
