    Generations-Wk3

One of the saddest themes of Scripture is the failure of the righteous to hand on their faith to the next generation. The tendency of faithful people is to assume that our children will absorb the gospel by osmosis, but this is not God’s design. Only through a strategic intentionality that mirrors God’s pursuit of us will we effectively model and communicate the life-giving way of Christ to those generations that come behind us.

    Good Fences - Week 4

    Good Fences - Week 4

Everywhere we look, there are fences. In fact, boundaries are so fundamental, without them, there would be nothing to see at all. We can look at these boundaries, these fences, in one of two ways. Negatively, boundaries constrain us. They get in our way. Wouldn’t it be better to be free of them? But, positively, boundaries tell us who we are, what we’re for, and how to be rightly related to everything else. Truly, “good fences make good neighbors.” The book of Genesis shows us that the goodness of God’s creation is possible only through the goodness of the boundaries He has set. Trusting His boundaries is abundant life; rejecting them is deprivation and death. Christ alone is the restoration of God’s “good fences,” and trusting Him gives us a new Genesis, a chance to begin again.
