Vox Sponsae (Voice of the Bride) is a podcast on the Liturgy of the Hours, the public and communal prayer of the Catholic Church. The Church teaches that this prayer is none other than "the voice of a bride addressing her bridegroom" and that "it is the very prayer that Christ himself, together with his Body, addresses to the Father." It truly is one of the greatest treasures that Christ has left to His Church.
Through this podcast, we hope to inspire greater devotion to the Liturgy of the Hours among God's people and help them discover the meaning and significance it has for the Church and her members.

Priesthood of Christ in the LIturgy of the Hours
In this episode, we discuss how Jesus Christ, high priest of the new and eternal covenant, has chosen not only to redeem man and give perfect glory to God in Himself, but to share that work with His mystical body. While He certainly shares this work with us through our participation in His redemptive sacrifice made present in the Mass, He also shares this work with us by associating us with His prayer and praise in the Liturgy of the Hours.

Interview with Fr Timothy Gallagher
In this episode we had the privilege of interviewing Fr Timothy Gallagher OVM. Father Gallagher shared about his own experience in praying the Liturgy of the Hours as a priest, how he came to appreciate the LOTH more deeply over time, what led him to write two books on the LOTH, and about his hopes for the new translation of the breviary in the coming years.
We also discussed the public and communal nature of the LOTH, the wonderful gift the Church has given us in the Office of Readings, and some inspiring passages found in the General Instructions and the Catechism on the Liturgy of the Hours. -
The Liturgy of the Hours & the Consecration of Time
In this episode we discuss paragraphs 10 and 11 of the General Instructions. In these paragraphs we learn that the purpose of the Liturgy of the Hours is to "sanctify the day and the whole range of human activity."
We consider what it means to consecrate time and work, how this is made possible by praying the Liturgy of the Hours, and how we can do this practically within the lay apostolate.
What a gift the LOTH turns out to be for the laity who have been given a special obligation to renew the temporal order and direct it to God through Christ. -
