El capítulo de esta semana continuará con el tema de la cultura Española y Catalana. Estoy pensando en hacer una selección de capítulos sobre este tema. Entre ellos hablaremos sobre tradiciones, comida, entre otros.

Un dato muy curioso es que en 2010 un estudio decía que en España hay una media de 1 bar por cada 129 españoles. De esto podemos deducir que la bebida y la comida son una parte muy importante de la cultura española.

En el capítulo de esta semana hablaremos sobre las tradiciones alrededor de la comida y platos típicos españoles de los que espero que no hayáis oído hablar!

The chapter of this week will continue with the theme of Spanish and Catalan culture. Here are some more examples of typical traditions of our region. This will be a series of episodes. We will start it today and continue it in 2 weeks.

A very curious fact is that in 2010 a study came out in which it is said that in Spain there is an average of 1 bar for every 129 Spaniards. From this we can deduce something very simple: eating and drinking are very important in Spanish culture.

In this week´s chapter we will talk about the Spanish cuisine and the traditions that are around it. I will talk about different dishes that i hope you haven´t heard about.

Las fiestas alrededor de la navidad son, después de las vacaciones de verano, mi momento favorito del año. Me encantan las luces de navidad, los días en familia, la comida rica pero sobretodo, que para mi es volver a casa por navidad. De hecho hay un anuncio muy famoso cuyo eslogan era: ‘Vuelve, a casa vuelve, por navidad’.

Es así que he decidido dedicar el último capítulo del 2021 a La Navidad! Espero que os guste y volvemos el 12 de Enero del 2022 con el próximo capítulo.

The holidays around Christmas are, after the summer holidays, my favorite time of the year. I love Christmas lights, family days, delicious food, but above all, which for me is the most important one, is coming home for Christmas. In fact, there is a very famous advertisement whose slogan was: "Come back home for Christmas."

For this reason i have decided to dedicate the last episode of the year to Christmas! I hope you like it and we will be back in 2022 with more episodes!

En el capítulo de esta semana vamos a hablar de palabras que solo se escuchan en España. Parece poco importante o incluso tonto este tema pero realmente no lo es. El Español puede variar bastante de un país a otro y si no usais las palabras correctas, os podéis meter en problemas.

Como decíamos antes, no es lo mismo el Español que se habla en México que el que se habla en Chile o en España. Mi pareja es Mexicana y la primera vez que conocí a su familia tuve un par de situaciones donde no acabaron de entender lo que yo quería decir. Pero bueno, lo dejamos como una anécdota graciosa, no llegó la sangre al río.

En este capítulo hablaremos de palabras que son típicas en España, muchas de las cuales se usan especialmente en el lenguaje coloquial. Vamos a ver algunos ejemplos. Espero que os resulte entretenido y divertido!

In this week's chapter we will talk about words that are only used in Spain. It seems unimportant or even silly but really Spanish can vary quite a bit from one country to another. Not using the right words could cause you more than one headache!

As we said before, the Spanish spoken in Mexico is not the same as that spoken in Chile or Spain. My partner is Mexican and the first time I met his family I had a couple of situations where they didn't quite understand what I wanted to say. But hey, we leave it as a funny anecdote, nothing happened ;)

In this chapter we will talk about words that are typical in Spain, many of which are used especially in colloquial language. Let's see some examples. I hope you find it entertaining and fun!

Buenos días, buenas tardes,Como se acercan las vacaciones de Navidad y además estos meses de noviembre y diciembre hay muchos días festivos en España, me pareció que este sería un tema interesante y divertido para nuestros oyentes. Es por eso que en el capítulo de esta semana vamos a hablar de Las Festividades en España.

Los ocho días de descanso común en todos los territorios son los siguientes - the 8 festivities that are comon in all the spanish regions are the following:


1 de enero: Año Nuevo - 1st of January New years.
6 de enero: Día de reyes - 6th of January, The 3 kings.
Dimecres de cendra - Ash wednesday
Domingo de Ramos - Easter sunday
15 de abril: Viernes Santo -  Easter Friday
15 de agosto: Asunción de la Virgen. 15th of August Virgin of the assumption´s day.
12 de octubre: Fiesta Nacional de España - 12th of October Spain National Day
1 de noviembre: Todos los Santos - 1st of November All saints day.
6 de diciembre: Día de la Constitución Española - 6th of December, Spanish Constitution day.
8 de diciembre: Inmaculada Concepción - 8th of December Virgin of the immaculate conception.

Hay que recordar que cada autonomía tiene sus propios días festivos y que por ejemplo el 14 de abril, celebración de Jueves Santo, será fiesta en toda España, excepto en Cataluña donde es festivo el siguiente lunes. Escuchad el episodio para para saber más sobre estos días festivos, qué representan y cómo se celebran.

En el capítulo de esta semana vamos a hablar de la Festividad de todos los Santos.

Si os habéis dado cuenta, cada vez más, cuando se acerca el 1 de noviembre, Día de Todos los Santos, solo vemos calabazas, fantasmas, esqueletos, telas de araña… por todos los sitios. En la televisión, en las tiendas e incluso en escuelas y sitios de ocio. Parece que Halloween lo ocupa todo aunque es una tradición importada de Estados Unidos. En España, tenemos tradiciones propias de Todos los Santos. Es importante que la demos a conocer y la mantengamos. De esto va a tratar el episodio. Espero que os guste!



In this week's chapter we are going to talk about how the 1rst of November is celebrated in Spain.

I don't know If you have noticed, but more and more, when November 1, All Saints' Day, approaches, we only see pumpkins, ghosts, skeletons, spider webs ... everywhere.  On television, in stores and even in schools and entertainment venues.  It seems that Halloween occupies everything although it is a tradition imported from the United States.  In Spain, we have our own traditions of Todos los Santos. And it is important that we know it and maintain it. I hope you like it!

Para esta semana hemos decidido hacer algo diferente. Como ya os anunciamos en el anterior episodio, vamos a entrevistar al autor del libro La Risa.
