Fantasy Football Mock Draft: Who is WR1 is 2024?

Fantasy Football Mock Draft: Who is WR1 is 2024?

Next month you will be drafting, it's time to starting mocking. The best thing you can do to prepare for fantasy football season is to practice. Do a few mock drafts with the settings your league uses. Even better from your draft spot, if you know where you are drafting. We all know you should be drafting Christian McCaffrey. But, Who else should you draft in 2024? Here is a full mock draft with standard 1QB, 12 team, and PPR (1 point-per-reception) league.

Fantasy Football Mock Draft: Who Should You Draft in 2024?

How can a Mock Draft help you in Fantasy Football? The same way practicing anything else, is why. You can try different strategies to see which teams you like best. A fantasy football mock draft can show you positional trends and values. Look at each position, see where the values are that you like. If you like the running backs in the 5th or 6th round as much as the 3rd and 4th round, then wait. If you don't like the 7th and 8th round wide receivers, don't wait to get your 2nd or 3rd wide receiver.

You only get one shot at your fantasy football draft, no mulligans. If you hate your mock draft, just do another one. Try out Zero-RB, you might actually like it. My preferred strategy in 1 quarterback leagues is grabbing a mid-round quarterback. Full point per reception does make a difference, especially for pass-catching backs or wide receivers. I prefer early tight end, but you can wait. There is more parity that usual at the position, giving you more options. Here is the mock draft, what do you think?

Best Ball Fantasy Football Draft Strategy

Best Ball Fantasy Football Draft Strategy

Welcome back to Five Minute Fantasy Football. In this series Best Ball 101 series, we covered the basics of best ball. Not only did we cover what is best ball and how to play best ball? But, we talked about our favorite values per position. As well as what the research tells us are the best strategies for each position. So, What is the Best Underdog Fantasy Draft Strategy? Let's use these positional strategy rules to create a blue print for our draft.

Best Ball 101: What is the Best Underdog Fantasy Draft Strategy?

Each rule is based off of the last four Best Ball Manias. They pulled all of the data together per position to see what has worked and what has not worked. The Golden Rule is to have 4-5 WRs by Round 7, finishing with 7-8. For Running Backs, the teams that drafted at least one running back by round 4. They recommend having 3-4 running backs through 10 rounds. You should finish with 5-6 running backs.

For tight end, either get an early tight end or punt the position. You should draft at least 2 tight ends and no more than three. They recommend 2-3 quarterbacks as well. The top scorers in the regular season got their QB1 before Round 14. Teams that got a quarterback before round 4 scored more on average. But, you do not necessarily have to go early-QB. They do recommend getting your 2nd QB until after round 8. Bully tight end and double early quarterback were both found to be bad strategies. Alright, here was the result! #bestball #fantasyfootball #underdog #ff #nfl #sports #football

Underdog Fantasy Football Best Ball ADP

Underdog Fantasy Football Best Ball ADP

Welcome back to Five Minute Fantasy Football. Let's look at the Underdog Fantasy Best Ball ADP,  who are the Best Fantasy Football Values? Underdog is the best place to get accurate ADP right now. Most of your fantasy football drafts do not happen until late August. There is a lot of movement in the market between NFL Free Agency and the NFL Draft. Both of those have  concluded and we are far enough away that the data has settled. There are a lot of team building strategies, but one common theme is value. How can you maximize value with the assets you have.

Underdog Fantasy Best Ball ADP: Who are the Best Fantasy Football Values?

The draft can go fast, we recommend slow drafts. But, regardless you need to be prepared. Looking at ADP helps you know where the values are and where your targets are. We have all been on the clock and regretting take a player early because of how the board went. The ADP can help you find trends for positional groups. This will help you know when you can wait on a position or when you need to pay up. It is an average, meaning some players are going ahead or behind that pick. But, this also gives you a market value to measure. Knowing you are paying more or less than market value.

They have with varying sizes and entry fees to meet everyone's needs. You can even do private drafts or one on one. Based on all of the data, this is the best draft strategy for underdog fantasy best ball.

Best Ball 101: The Best Draft Strategy for Underdog Fantasy Best Ball

    Quarterbacks

They do a great job breaking it down by position and by round for you. Starting at Quarterback, the best strategy has been to draft a Quarterback before Round 14. Teams they draft an early quarterback in Rounds 3-4 had the most points. For your second quarterback, get one after Round 8. Only draft three QBs and get that last one after Round 16. Now let's look at the running back draft strategy.

    Running Backs

Their data shows that RB-RB was a great strategy the first two seasons, but not good the last two. Their first rule is to get at least one running back by Round 4. In the first 10 rounds, they suggest having 3-4 RBs. The best lineups ended with 5-6 running back.

    Wide Receivers

Wide Receivers are gold in best ball and you will want to snag them up. The golden rule of best ball per Hayden Winks is to have 4-5 Wide Receivers through Round 7. At least, have 4-6 by Round 10. The league is full of great wide receivers, but they fly off of the board and you want to load up. Finish your drafts with 7-8 wide receivers and you will be in good shape.

    Tight Ends

The Tight End position has been dominated by Travis Kelce. If you have had Kelce, that has been a pretty good strategy. What the data tells us, is to draft one early or really late. That is because you either had Travis Kelce and crushed it. Or you were lucky enough last year to snag Trey McBride or Sam LaPorta. This year will be interesting with a little more parity at the position, potentially. Now, let's put it all together and win it all!

Favorite Underdog Fantasy Tight End Values 2024

Favorite Underdog Fantasy Tight End Values 2024

The Tight End position group has been really difficult for fantasy football for years. There has been such as large disparity from the top guys, forcing you to pay up. The more you pay, the more you risk. People that drafted Darren Waller or Mark Andrews lost a lot of value in 2023. In this podcast we are going to look at Underdog Fantasy Football Tight End Values for 2024. Before that, we are going to look at optimal draft strategy for the TE position.

Underdog Fantasy Football Tight End Values for 2024

Underdog Fantasy does a great job at making all of their data available to you for free. You can see what strategies have worked or not worked for their winners. For the tight end position, Best Ball Mania has been the Travis Kelce area, having Travis Kelce has been a great strategy. Last year, it was obviously a big win if you took a late shot on Trey McBride or Sam LaPorta. But, in general here is what the data tells us to do for optimal tight end draft strategy.

Drafting a strategy in the first nine rounds has been successful. Kelce obviously helps the data on this one. One thing they recommend against, the "Bully-Tight End" strategy. In theory in can work, if you drafted Kelce or the future TE1. But, it has not been a good strategy with those teams scoring below average each year. Top teams have either went early tight end or punted it. So, Here are my favorite Under Fantasy Football Tight End Values for 2024!
