Lizz grabbed some Caden Lane jammies for James on sale, got her formula subscription, and picked out a runner rug to finish her bathroom makeover. Kelly bought the Chicco 360 tech rotating car seat which she's convinced will be the GOAT of grandparent car seats. She's also excited about her new sanitizing wipes. 

In industry news, moms are the biggest car enthusiasts—of course. Subaru is gearing up to leverage its relationship with Toyota to expand its electric lineup in the next couple of years, bridging their hybrid gap. And GM now has the hardware to help an electric Silverado power your house in an emergency. 

Ditch the drive-through
Taylor shares today's ditch-the-drive-through, a crowd-pleaser when she and a bestie get together to feed their five littles. These chicken pitas are easy to throw together in a pinch. Cube your chicken and cook in a skillet with creamy Italian dressing. Add the cooked chicken to a pita and top with tzatziki sauce, feta, tomato, red onion, cucumber. Serve with a side of rice and watermelon.

Don't sleep on little potatoes, grab a bag and get ready to ditch the drive-through. This week Kelly roasted potatoes, with rosemary, salt, and pepper. Added Kielbasa sausage, green beans, and asparagus, and then topped with a sauce after baking. Happy Mother's Day to all the Carpool moms who are in the trenches of mothering! Lizz is getting ready for her first mother's day with James in her arms and Kelly just wants to cook a big family meal in peace. 

Sydney came through with today's millennial word of the day on a recent phone call with Lizz. Faded has a new meaning and Gen Z is using it to mean 'skipped' as in 'she faded Mother's Day.' A bonus Gen Z fashion update: linen pants are the sweatpants of summer. Kelly and Lizz are getting theirs from Athleta.

Lizz doesn't mind if you want to call her Joanna Gaines. She's tackled a few home renovation projects that have got her inspired. Moving a toilet paper holder turned into a much bigger project and she's impressed Tyler's mom with her nail gun skills. Her advice? Start with your kids' bathroom and be creative!

George's animal game of the day is Kelly asking how many of these animal species are left in the world: giraffes, blue macaw parrots, gorillas, polar bears, sheep, and blue whales. Lizz is not a fan of guessing the answers. Kelly also shares fun animal facts about the smartest animals in the world.

On today's advice segment a listener offers her expert insights on meal train etiquette and sharing your link in text. Another asks if it's possible to make travel with the third row down safe. Kelly shares the risks of after-market nets and products and what to prioritize when it comes to inside-of-the-car safety. She's also ordered new old navy maternity workout dresses and a solar-powered charger so she's ready for power outages. Kelly ordered a twenty foot parachute with eighteen handles, a new floor cleaning solution, and got her own maternity haul from Spanx.

A listener asks how she should prep, find the proper color combo, and go through the process of a spray tan. Kelly and Lizz—spray tan devotees—have all the advice to offer. Kelly even goes so far as to say that a bad spray tan is better than being pale. Another advice question focuses on compact SUV options for a dad commuting to work. Kelly recommends the Toyota Rav4 and Prius, Honda CRV, Subaru Forester or Outback. And last on the advice train, Kelly and Lizz share their heated opinions on how to handle toddler conflicts with another parent and friend.

In industry news a dealership was found to be not at fault for injuries caused by an 80-year-old customer who crashed during a test drive. And making headlines that can't be Googled, Kelly's hyped for the new Car Mom blog: Cars With Bench Seating In Highest Trim Levels.

This week's ditch the drive-through comes from Quebec. Try this Pâté Chinois, a twist on shepherd's pie. Brown one pound dish of ground beef in a skillet. Drain the beef and if you're feeling fancy, add some garlic and onion or worcestershire. Put the beef at the bottom of a casserole dish and add a can of cream corn right on top. Then add your mashed potatoes. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes or until the mashed potatoes start to get golden.

On today's taste drive Kelly and Lizz try the lemon-lime Poppi. It's not their favorite, but if you're in the mood for watered down yellow gatorade with a dash of fizz, it may just be yours.

Toyota announces a record breaking year with sales of 11.1 million vehicles—the most ever sold by a car brand in one year. Also in industry news, some small SUVs now show worrying results in an updated crash test. The Equinox, Mazda CX five, Mitsubishi, Outlander and Volkswagen Taos all scored poor ratings in this updated test and only one passed. Another safety issue has prompted NITSA to open up a preliminary probe into Ford's hand free driving tech after two crashes.

Kelly shares her mother-in-law's poppy seed creamy chicken casserole for today's ditch the drive-through. Combine your chicken, chicken Rice-a-Roni, seasoning blend, sour cream, and cream of mushroom soup in a casserole pan. Top it with Ritz crackers and butter and bake until bubbly.
