    In this AMS podcast, AMS industry development manager Leoni Kojetin chats to Helen Wallace, Professor of Agricultural Ecology at Griffith University in Queensland.

    Professor Wallace has been a macadamia researcher for more than 20 years and is part of a team of researchers investigating pollination in a number of crops including macadamia.
    The research is funded by the Hort Frontiers Pollination Fund and has shown that better pollination has the potential to improve yields and increase kernel recovery.

    Professor Wallace summarises the major findings to date, explains the latest paternity testing techniques (mass array and genotype by sequencing), outlines recent work on large mono-varietal blocks, and details a large experiment that added 1 tonne per hectare with good pollination.
