Joining John with  another inspiring example of leadership is  Sara Ting, founder and president of World Unity, Inc.   It’s a thriving organization that has fostered a world-wide movement with a simple focus. We are all children under the same sun, deserving equal recognition, respect and inclusion.  Sara believes there is no place in our world for racism and bigotry  In l985, she composed “The Sun Poem,” the centerpiece of a public service campaign to promote racial and ethnic harmony throughout the city of Boston. A multimedia campaign publicized the poem on television, radio, the mass transit and on billboards throughout the city. The campaign was so successful it was also initiated in New York City and over time has been promoted on media outlets across the country.   She involves educators, school children, artists and musicians in her life’s work to make  an enduring contribution to the elimination of all forms of prejudice, biases and discrimination.

Today’s leader is  Anthony “Tony” Fabrizio, Professor and Chair of the of Management Department at Curry College.  Dr. Fabrizio teaches at both the undergraduate and graduate college level.   After a long distinguished career as a manager in business, Tony is now tasked with leading students and fellow teachers through the COVID 19 crisis, the monumental logistical challenge for our times.  John and Jordan talk with Tony about leading through crises, his own special brand of “thinking out of the box,” and the critical leadership roles that current business students will play in the years to come.

John welcomes Steve DiFillippo, one of the most respected leaders in the restaurant industry,  owner of the popular Davio’s restaurant group, headquartered in Boston with locations around the country.  Steve shares thoughts on leading his company through the current pandemic, the most challenging time ever for the industry. The conversation also centers around motivating and supporting his staff while delivering the finest service possible to the customers, hallmarks of Steve’s leadership model. DiFillippo is the author of  “It’s All About the Guest:  Exceeding  Expectations in Business and in Life, The Davio’s Way.”

Candy is a well-respected broadcaster whose voice graced the airwaves of MAGIC 106.7 WMJX in Boston for 25 years.  She is also an award winning interviewer and creator and host of the award-winning podcast “The Story Behind Her Success,” featuring inspiring  true stories of women from all walks of life.  Candy, along with being a media consultant, corporate communications trainer and motivational leader, is also a talented singer and songwriter.

In today’s episode John introduces us to author and leadership coach Ildiko Oravecz.  She helps people in organizations small and large attain success, improving interpersonal relationships with her unique program known as Tribal Abundance.  That is also the title of her popular book.  Ildiko presents a common sense approach to building lasting and meaningful connections in all aspects of life.

In today’s episode, John talks leadership at the higher education level with Ken Quigley, President of Curry College in Milton, Massachusetts. Ken Quigley, through his leadership, has seen Curry grow into a thriving school with a diverse student population.
