Closing out a solid Q1 with strong gains for the S&P 500! Not everyone is participating, but the market breadth is beginning to widen out.



TSLA, AAPL and UNH saw declines in Q1. Could they see a turn around?

We are focusing on stocks with strong growth, guidance, positive changes from management and issuing buybacks with their excess cash. My plan for the podcast and investing challenge has always been to get invested and stay invested.

We were waiting to hear from the Fed and Powell this week about the plans for the economy. While we expected 6 rate cuts this year, we are down to 3. Powell announced that rates are unchanged for now and the market rallied. The idea of "stronger for longer" was being thrown around which is a change from "higher for longer". The economy is showing stronger than anticipated; stocks, real estate, GDP continue to grow, while unemployment remains below 4%.

Stock buybacks are a strong indicator that the company is in a position of strength. With enough free cash flow to cover cap ex, dividends and repaying debt the company can use excess cash to repurchase shares.
