NEM Fighter II: Ultra Turbo Reliability Edition

NEM Fighter II: Ultra Turbo Reliability Edition

The Grattan Institute is handing out brickbats, not bouquets to pretty much everyone for their contribution to a messy energy system transition. But the question remains, how do we muddle through the messiness and keep the lights on as coal departs the system? And can we hold out hope for the sunny (and solar powered) uplands beyond?

EXCLUSIVE! The 2024-25 Budget: Smells Like Green Spirit

EXCLUSIVE! The 2024-25 Budget: Smells Like Green Spirit

It’s Christmas for policy wonks and so YOU Super Summerupers will have not one but TWO presents waiting for you in your podcast feed this Friday. In addition to our episode on the Grattan Institute's latest report, Keeping the Lights On, we are unwrapping the 2024-25 Budget!

So many winners, it was hard to pick a few to unpack but listen on for to hear the highlights of the Future Made in Australia juggernaut, engineered inflation-busting energy bill discounts and chocolate freckles.

The developing annual tradition of a rapid reaction to the Budget is one of our favourite pods to do and always a lot of fun. We even got to record this one in person together on Gadigal and Bigjigal country, gathered inside of a protective curtain fort with the atmospherics of the Energy Efficiency Council’s conference in the background.

A massive shout out to friend of the pod Mark Spencer for doing a cracking job editing the pod, the first we’ve funded with contributions from YOU, our fabulous Super Summeruperers! Thanks again for being awesome and supporting us to do a pod like this in one of the crazier weeks of the year.

If we were to say, hypothetically speaking, we’d might do a post-Budget live show next year in Canberra, would you come? Hypothetically speaking of course. Comments below appreciated!

A Future Made in Australia pulls the old double-reverse-China and we could set up a solar shop at home for the low low price of just $7.8Bn. Bargain!
