Finding a good Podcast about Japan and learning Japanese is damn well hard. This one along with one more, that's about it.

A lot of it is banter, and I love it

Learning a language can be stressful, and it's nice to be able to take a break from the stress without taking a break from learning. To that end, this show is a lovely breath of fresh air. The hosts have chemistry together, which makes it fun to listen to regardless of the subject matter. I'll often listen to my favorite episodes when I'm trying to sleep or when I'm out for a long walk.

That being said, my favorite episodes are the ones that have a higher-than-average information density, and teach you a lot about grammar and language history; the Kristen specials, so to speak. Still, they wouldn't be the same without her ragtag team of lovable sidekicks.

I also like the episodes that talk about the learning process in general; it's clear that this is something that is to the hosts' hearts.
Among other things, this show has gotten me hooked on mnemonics, which I had previously eschewed like the plague, worried that they bog my mind down with useless information. I've even signed up for WaniKani, and although I do sometimes shake my fist indignantly at the etymologically blasphemous radical names, I have to admit that it has accelerated my kanji and vocabulary learning significantly.

For those who do want to learn more efficiently, it's worth noting that many of the episodes are essentially abridged versions of articles on Tofugu.com, which means that you can think of the episode as a light intro or a review, depending on the order in which you experience time.

To sum up: Keep up the good work!
I hope you make more counter episodes in the future; getting both a native perspective and follow-up questions from learners was great, and I feel like I learned a lot from those episodes, even though I was already familiar with most of the words.

You do great

You are great and fun to listen to. Speaking about different matters in the Japanese language while at the same time making it fun to listen to. The sometimes a bit "unorganized" feeling I get when talking about things make it fun to listen to. And when learning details about a language/culture it should be fun. Especially in a podcast that might be listened to while doing other things.
For me, an all Japanese, super serious podcast would require me to sit down and concentrate, wich I don't really have time for.
