A Guide To The Most Beneficial Fruits For Your Drive

A Guide To The Most Beneficial Fruits For Your Drive

As your body is the physical vehicle for all you do here on earth, this episode is about having it in great working order. As we continue to look at the best foods to fuel our bodies, we now turn to fruit. Where should it factor into your diet? Should you have any? A little or a lot? And then, which fruits are the most beneficial to your wellness? It seems so basic, but these types of questions on food categories and the value of different varieties can be stumbling blocks in our pursuit of health. I’m joined by Randy James, medical doctor and Functional Medicine expert and I talk through whether we are generally best to eat fruit or not, and if so, which fruits and how much.

How To Get Honest With Our Distaste For Change & Better Equipped To Go After It

How To Get Honest With Our Distaste For Change & Better Equipped To Go After It

Many of you, like me, think of yourselves as people seeking growth and change. And you are. But you also have a lot of struggles around actually changing. I’m learning about this and realizing I’m not near as change-minded and able as I’d like to admit. I see myself taking the easy way and falling to routine most of the time, and often, it’s ok. It comes down to clarifying my values, seeing where I do actually want to grow and change and improve, and making a plan. But I’m getting better at addressing the root issues that cause me to delay and put off and fail and quit. Drive with me a minute to talk about change.

What Drives You When You Are Alone & Not Controlled By Your Circumstances

What Drives You When You Are Alone & Not Controlled By Your Circumstances

I’m on day four of a solo getaway. I currently have five of my kids and two grandkids living full time in my home. Circumstantially the days are full. We get them to four different schools in the morning, there is constant grocery shopping, clearing, fixing something that’s broken, dealing with issues with the six or seven cars at our house at any given time, and the list goes on an on. So every two to three months, I get away. I recharge with solitude. I’m on day four at a cabin out in the boonies of the Rockies and am thinking on how the circumstances often drive our lives, but they are not our true, authentic drive. When we let the circumstances account for our drive, we are headed for a wreck. Or burnout. Drive with me a moment to unpack this issue and become aware of your true drive.

How To Honor & Overcome What Drives You Genetically

How To Honor & Overcome What Drives You Genetically

We all know the debate between nature and nurture. I grew up with a focus on nurture. We become what we want. We blaze our own path. We make our reality. This seemed to work until later in life when, with some help from others, I was shown some sabotaging patterns in my life. A graph was made of my life and especially regarding my work, it showed me start things, built them, then they came to an end. There were always reasons, but the only common denominator was me. But it made no sense to me. I was dumbfounded. I finally got led to looking at some genetic predispositions. I’ve never liked this idea because I don’t want an excuse to fail. And guess what. I don’t. But now I am aware of some issues I have and I can now address them and succeed where before I habitually sabotaged. There is a study about the reality of genetics that just blows me away. Let me share it with you so you can become aware of yourself and…stop the negative patterns.

Emily P Freeman | Reveal And Remove The Barriers To Making Big Decisions & Changes With 10 Key Questions

Emily P Freeman | Reveal And Remove The Barriers To Making Big Decisions & Changes With 10 Key Questions

We are driven by our values. Sometimes however, our values change, or we find ourselves in a place where it’s hard to live out our values. So we think about change. Which requires decisions. And boom. A crossroads. The comfort and security of where we are and what is known, and the fear of the unknown. It’s a big deal. However, I’ve got really hopeful news for you. A resource if you will. How would you like a manual for how to make it as easy and secure as possible? Emily P. Freeman is the Wall Street Journal bestselling author of five books, including The Next Right Thing: A Simple Soulful Practice for Making Life Decisions. This book became so popular that Emily now has a nationally ranked podcast of the same name, The Next Right Thing, which already has more than 24 million downloads. Emily regularly offers perspective and clarity for more than 120K followers on Instagram. After doing the research to masterfully address decision making, Emily has turned her focus to making change. Her new book is How to Walk into a Room: The Art of Knowing When to Stay and When to Walk Away. We went really, really deep into the real and perceived risks of change. Then we spent nearly half our time together walking through 10 questions Emily has masterfully outlined to help us discern if a change is truly wise and fitting. We even hit on personality styles and talk about those who change is easier for, but that those who struggle more with change often actually do it more successfully. As you’ll hear, I’m the former, for the record. I’ve never experienced a more clear and concise plan for taking so much of the fear and risk out of big decisions and changes and I won’t address it again the same way. So next up, Emily P Freeman and a deep discussion to help us all with big decision and change to help equip us to drive more authentically and efficiently through the ups, downs, lefts and rights of life.

A Guide To The Most Beneficial Grains For Your Drive

A Guide To The Most Beneficial Grains For Your Drive

Welcome, I'm Kevin Miller, your host, guide and fellow traveler as we unearth what drives us. When we know what drives us and why, we get where we want to go.
Our bodies drive everything we do, so in an effort to get them in the best shape possible, in this episode we are talking about food. I recently covered the best meats. Here, the best grains. With the huge focus on gluten and inflammation you hear more and more about being grain free and that all grain and carbs are the enemy. Yet as Dan Buettner covers in the Blue Zones which showcase the healthiest places in the world, most of them have some grains as a dietary staple. Overall, yes, we’re best to minimize grains. Just like meat. A great plate of food would have veggies as half or more of the meal and not a side item. In America we have made a staple of big portions of grains at every meal. Who didn’t grow up having bread with pretty much every meal? And we generally choose the least nutrient dense, life-giving options. I’m with Randy James, Medical Doctor and Functional Medicine expert to discuss what grains will serve you best.
