At just 22 years old, Marcelo Palomino has already left an indelible mark on the sport, representing the youth USA national team, gracing the pitches of Major League Soccer with the Houston Dynamo, and now, embarking on a new chapter in the Superettan league in Sweden.Marcelo Palomino is a 22 year old professional soccer player from Houston, Texas. He is currently playing for GIF Sundsvall in Sweden’s 2nd tier, Superettan. After spending his whole youth career with Houston Dynamo, and even making his MLS debut at 19 years old, Marcelo had a few untimely injuries that set him back in Houston. He went on to play one season with Charlotte Independence in the USL Championship followed by one season with Houston Dynamo’s MLS next squad. Marcelo refused to let adversity dampen his spirit. Instead, he viewed these challenges as opportunities for growth and self-discovery. Sensing the call of destiny and fueled by an unyielding desire to reach the pinnacle of European soccer, Marcelo made the courageous decision to pursue his dream abroad. He first signed with AFC Eskilstuna in Sweden’s 2nd tier scoring 5 goals and 3 assist in his first season abroad.
