On today’s show, we have a special presentation from the latest NFPA Quarterly Technology Conference.
Our Quarterly Technology Conferences are done in collaboration with MSOE’s Fluid Power Industrial Consortium. They feature presentations on market-ready fluid power technologies and allow for networking across the fluid power supply chain – as suppliers, manufacturers, and OEMs come together for mutual benefit.
 Our March 7, 2024 event was focused on Fluid Power technologies that are helping to drive industrial machines towards Predictive and Preventative Maintenance. Two of our presenters were Kris Mikulan and Connor Dudas, both from Schroeder Industries.
What follows is a recording of the presentation they gave at this March Quarterly Technology Conference.

Derek is Vice President of Integrated Circuit Solutions at Danfoss Power Solutions. Danfoss designs engineered hydraulic, electric, and electronic systems and components, for use primarily in off-highway mobile equipment and attachments. Recently, Danfoss expanded its cartridge valve portfolio, promising increased operator comfort and system efficiency, along with enhanced stability and safety. Today, we've invited Derek to our forum to delve into the impact of this portfolio on fluid power technologies.

Today’s episode is part of a special series were doing to focus on the cutting-edge fluid power technologies and customer solutions on display at the 2024 iVT EXPO.

iVT EXPO is an annual exposition for the off high vehicle design and engineering community, with exhibits that are highly focused on a number of key technologies, including new powertrains, electric and hybrid systems, control systems, sensors, and autonomous technologies. Hydraulics serve as a key enabling technology for these vehicles and many of these systems, iVT EXPO offers an ideal platform for growth and expansion of hydraulics, both in its affiliated education program and on its show floor.
Our first guest in this series is Adam Livesay. Adam is the co-founder of a company called Elevāt-- a Seattle-based Industrial IoT company focused on connecting the Industrial World. Elevāt powers the ecosystem of smart manufacturers, machines, and connected fleets to deliver smart services, products, and outcomes to the marketplace. We’ve had Adam on the podcast before to help discuss possible IoT applications for the fluid power industry.
Today, we invited him into our forum to learn about the applications that Elevāt will be showcasing at their exhibit at iVT EXPO.

On today’s show, our guests are Jose Di Geronimo and Dan Lentsch. Jose is the CEO and Dan is the Head of Engineering, both at Amalga Composites. Amalga Composites is a leader in the design, engineering, and manufacturing of filament–wound, resin transfer & compression molded composite products since 1966. Today, we invited Jose into our forum to learn how Amalga’s anti-corrosion composite tubing improves performance for pneumatic actuators.

Don is the Dean of Engineering and Advanced Technology at Macomb Community College. Macomb Community College is the newest Hub in NFPA’s Fast Track to Fluid Power program, so we invited Don into our forum to learn more about what that means for Macomb and how the school is preparing its students to be part of the future of the fluid power industry.

David is Regional Sales Manager at Delta Motion. Delta Motion manufactures electrohydraulic motion controllers and remote fieldbus servo controllers for the automotive, injection/blow molding, steel and aluminum mills and others.
