Dr. James Cantor on Pedophilia and the Catholic Church's Sexual Abuse Crisis God, Sex, and Sangria

    • Religion & Spirituality

This week Dr. James Cantor a neuroscientist and sexological researcher specializing in paraphilias (why we like what we like sexually) joins us to discuss his research on pedophilia and how it relates to what we know (and don't know) about the sexual abuse crisis in the Catholic Church.  Using sex research to understand exactly what the John Jay Report says about the Catholic Church's sexual abuse crisis is a conversation that isn't happening, yet it's essential to truly understanding the crisis and how to prevent sexual abuse from continuing. This conversation can be uncomfortable at first, but as James mentions it's like going to the gym.  That discomfort leads to important growth.  With that in mind, take care of yourself as you listen this week.
