Mark 1:7-12. This passage is Jesus being introduced to the public by John, the Holy Spirit, and God the Father. As you read, think about what your life introduces Jesus as. Is he an after thought, because your life shows he has little importance? Is he someone that follows you, because your life says he is not my Lord. Is he your Sunday hook up that gets you emotionally going? This passage challenges us that Jesus is the all powerful, caring Lord. Today, ask your self will He be your Lord?

John was on the scene preparing the people for the coming King. The Word of God, through the prophets, had predicted John would come as a messenger to set the way for God straight. John came as the last Old Testament prophet and proclaimed Jesus was more mighty than him and powerful (baptized with the Holy Ghost).

This week Eastside Community Church continued the introduction of “Jesus Moves Me”- a study in the Gospel of Mark. Mark wrote to people that were oppressed, outcast, and disenfranchised. He is showing them how Jesus meets them and is the answer for their situation and hopeless state.

Jesus Moves Me”- a study in the Gospel of Mark. Mark is a book of action and the readers encounter the Jesus that impacts their lives. The Gospel of Mark was written by John Mark. He served as a helper to Paul and Barnabas, but later deserted them. Although he had completely failed to stand with the Lord Jesus’ servants, he eventually returned. He stood with them as an encouragement, fellow labor and was willing to be persecuted (prison). One of the reasons for writing Mark was to express to persecuted Christians how to endure suffering for the Gospel. Mark explains that Jesus Christ is worth serving and suffering for. Mark is writing to get them to understand the Kingdom of God and change their lives to line up with their new kingdom.
