    Nnennaya invited the Nigerian Institution of Environmental Engineers to give us a global perspective on what the climate fight looks like around the world, specifically Nigeria.
    The chairman of the NIEE, Dr.Ngozi Nwogu, and the executive director at the Jason-Jesse International School, Uche David-Uche joined us to talk about their efforts involving the youth in climate justice work , the events they’ve hosted, and the impact they are making even with a lack of governmental and further monetary support in their work.

    This week on "Is It Hot Enough For Ya?" join Nnennaya & Climate Auntie Raya Salter for a special episode ft. fellow youth climate activist, Isaac Vergun. Raya, with over two decades of experience as an environmental lawyer and activist, has been a leading voice in environmental justice. Despite facing belittlement, she remains a true climate hero.


    Isaac Vergun, 1 of 21 plaintiffs in Julianna v. Gov, featured in the Netflix documentary "Youth v. Gov," and co-founder of the non-profit climatechangerecovery.org, joins me in interviewing Raya for an insightful conversation. Together with Nnennaya, they delve into Raya's experiences, including her viral moment when U.S. Representative, Clay Higgins called her out of her name during testimony.

    Debanjana Das on the Disconnect between Climate Scientists and Climate Activists

    For Season 3, Episode 3, Nnennaya interviewed performing artist and climate scientist, Dr. Debanjana Das. Assistant Research Scientist at Howard University's NOAA Center in Atmospheric Sciences and Meteorology. She leads research projects on climate extremes, and global climate change, conducting numerical experiments using global models, and their implications for climate justice. Her latest research paper, "Tropical Cyclonic Energy Variability in North Indian Ocean: Insights from ENSO," has recently been accepted for publication. Beyond scientific research, Dr. Das also worked in stage and film production as an artistic director, choreographer, and executive production designer for a number of notable Indian movies.

    She obtained her Ph.D. and Master's degree from the University of Calcutta, India. She engages in research projects fostering collaborations with faith-based indigenous communities and the Weather Water Enterprise. She integrates her scientific expertise with her artistic abilities, utilizing dance as a powerful medium to facilitate climate conversations and promote dialogue about climate justice.

    Nnennaya connected with Dr. Das last fall after she shared her expertise on climate modeling with her Global Climate Change class. They ended up speaking on the amount of climate scientists/ researchers actually involved in activist/law-making spaces. They expanded on this and more in episode 3: The Disconnect between Climate Scientists and Climate Activists.
