Enola Holmes: Literary Analysis - Themes and Symbols

Enola Holmes: Literary Analysis - Themes and Symbols

Enola Holmes is an American mystery filmed based movie that took place in London, 1900s. While searching for her missing mother, an unafraid girl, Enola Holmes uses her intelligent skills tricking her brother Sherlock and help a runaway lord, Tewksbury. It was a new adventure for Enola; finding her true path in life, saving mother, and developing friendships.
Enola was an unconventional girl and, without a mother she was just like a dog without an owner. She wanted to grow in her own way by, choosing her own path and deciding what is right for her, yet apparently, society expected her to be the opposite. In the late 90s, women didn’t have the same rights as men. This is why her mother needed to do the right thing no matter how difficult or dangerous; “We need to make voices, in order for them to listen.” The end, Enola changes it. She proved that women can be as strong as men, her mother noticed it and came back to her.
Enola was facing many challenges during this adventure, but she gained such remarkable gifts in return. She gained friendships, and was growing in her own way. Her friendship with Tewksbury is what kept the adventure going. They trusted each other and were helping each other when facing problems. One such example is when Enola saved his life at the train and he saved her from the finishing school. Also, because Enola was homeschool her in tire life. Tewksbury was her first friend, which also means you can make friend even in the weirdest situation.
There were many symbols being hinted at and shown in the film, such as Dash. Dash represents the memory Enola has of her mother. During the discussion with Sherlock, he mentioned how her mother hid Dash under her pillow every night, to remind her of Enola. Not only Dash, the drawing of her brother, Mycroft while she was sitting on the tree is another symbol. It shows the not so good relationship between her and her brother. But at the end, her brother accepted her for who she was and this was shown by the way he acted towards her at the end of the movie, because then Enola could take care of herself. Sherlock also says, “She will be my worth from now.” which meant that Mycroft would not be responsible for Enola any longer.
In conclusion, this film teaches many life lessons. It also talks about how important history has impacted us today. Enola Holmes shows that no matter who you are, you have a right to be whomever you want and show others that your path is as good as theirs. After watching this film, it should have an impact on your beliefs towards gender equality.

    Plural & Possessive noun

    Plural & Possessive noun

Greetings everyone welcome to Maninthorn's podcast episode 2, Good to see you again. In today episode will be explaining about the differences of nouns.

But first, what is a noun? A noun is a word that refers to a person, place, things or actions. It is usually a single word, but not always depending on the sentence itself.

Like we’ve said there are many types of noun, but in this podcast we would be focusing on Plural and Possessive nouns only.

Plural noun shows a quantity of more than one.
    Possessive noun shows ownership,

While Plural possessive noun incorporate both ownership and more than one.

An example of Plural noun would be “We were eating ice creams together.” This show that there are many ice creams.

An example of Possessive noun would be “This is Lisa’s ice cream, not your!” This show that Lisa is the owner of the ice cream.

An example of Plural possessive noun would be “We got Lisa’s ice cream cakes from the store.” This show both the owner of the ice cream cake which is Lisa and the amount of cake which is more than one.

So, we hope that you’ve learnt something from listening to this podcast. Thank you for listening and see you again next time.

    Feelings

    Feelings

Hello, welcome to Maninthorn’s podcast episode 1

My name is Tan and hope you enjoy listening to this podcast.

Feelings is such a big and complicated word, can you believe that this one word can mean so many things. Sad, angry, happy, love those words are so..different but they do have one thing in common, feelings.

And in this podcast, I will be talking about the true definition of all those feelings.

Sensitive Affective Disorder or what is commonly known as SAD is a type of depression that’s related to change in seasons. Sadness is an emotion which occurs when you feel disappointed and hopeless, like other emotions sadness is something that all people experience from time to time. Then, how do you fight sadness? Smile, fight this devil with your bright gorgeous smile, delete all your negative thoughts. Who cares if I’m not pretty, I love myself. You think I’m ugly? That’s not my problem, I want to be pretty, I want to be better for me not for you. Once you can get rid of all the negativities in your life, trust me you will be the happiest person on earth.

Anger is a secondary emotion towards someone or something you feel has purposely done you wrong. Don’t get me wrong, anger can be a good thing. It can give you a way to express your negative feelings but most of the time, anger mostly would cause you problems. Cause once you’re mad, sometimes it could be hard for you to control yourself. It would feel like your madness is controlling you. The true emotions behind anger are anxiety, shame, sadness and fear. The way to control this madness that is controlling you is that you have to control your anger, stay calm and breath. Think that problems are just steps, steps that lead to you being a better person. Feeling angry is not a shame, if you know how to control them. The greater your storm, the brighter your rainbow. Stay strong, there's a rainbow after every storm. You'll never find a rainbow if you're looking down.

Once you found the rainbow the first feeling that you’ll experience would definitely be happiness. True happiness is when you understand, appreciate and accept who you are as a person. Feeling of joy, satisfaction, and well-being are the most common causes of happiness. I mean, everyone wants to be happy..right? Positive thinking plays the main role in happiness. Get rid of it, negative thoughts, we don’t need them because happiness depends upon yourself. It’s not how much we have, but how much we enjoy, that makes happiness.

What’s that feeling, why do I feel butterflies in my stomach? Oh no, stop blushing. What are these feelings? Some of you may or may not have experienced these feelings, but you did you’re in love, yes, love. Why do we love someone? Usually, we fall in love with a person that we find attractive and appropriate for us. But..why do we love someone so much? It might be cliche to say that you love him because he makes me want to be a better person, but isn’t that true? True love will transform you in so many ways. When you love someone, you suddenly find yourself wanting to find so many new things, because the heart sets what is invisible to the eyes.

In the end, feelings can be fatal. We just can’t seem to control our feelings all the time. Feeling does work in cycles, think about it, you love you lose you’re sad then you cope with your sadness and feel happy again. It’s just the unstoppable cycle that existed without you even knowing. I hope after listening to this, you will understand yourself better. Again, my name is Tan. You’re listening to Maninthorn’s podcast episode 1. Thank you for listening and have a nice day.
