The second-term Democrat spoke on a panel about the city’s efforts to identify and replace lead service lines throughout its water system. So far, Newburgh has allocated more than $1.6 million to create an inventory of lead service lines and begin the replacement process. The city is also still grappling with the fallout from the discovery of PFAS contamination in its water supply in 2016.
